The 5K runs from SCHS, West on Route 26, crosses Route 27, and goes South on Ridge Road to TUMC. We will be on State Highway Roads. RUN IN SUPPORT OF SOUTH CARROLL HIGH SCHOOLS FELLOWSHIP OF CHRISTIAN ATHLETES AND IN SUPPORT OF STOPPING MALARIA IN AFRICA. EVERY 60 SECONDS A CHILD DIES FROM A PREVENTABLE DISEASE. WE HAVE ALREADY CLOSED THE GAP. RUN TO HELP STOP THE GAP! Awards to: (no duplicate awards)
- Top two finishers, male & female (Trophies) - Medals to top three age-group finishers, male & female, 8th grade and under, 9th grade, 10th grade, 11th grade, 12th grade, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+

* RUNNERS GET A FREE PULLED PORK SANDWICH at the finish line, SHOW YOUR WRIST BAND which is located in your registration packet! Observers can buy the sandwich for $ 5 each. The Run (officially timed & scored by WRRC)** ** Please note there will be a State Police presence to help us cross the intersection of Rt. 26 and Rt. 27. This crossing may impact the time of your official run as we are taking safety seriously.
No baby joggers, strollers, dogs or headphones are allowed in the Run to the Cross.

Entry fee for all participants*: $10.00 for students; $15.00 for SCHS Alum or members of the Westminster Road Runners Club. $20.00 for adults. Extra $5.00 registration fee after April 6th and Extra $10.00 on race day.
*Race t-shirts can be pre-ordered (purchased separately) and are available for sale on a first-come, first-serve basis on race-day.

All preregistrations can be given or received at Taylorsville UMC, Sunday mornings at 9:45 am or noon; or online or by mail. Registration papers and online registration found at: www.taylorsvilleumc.org (there is a $2 to $4 processing fee per on-line registrant), or - by mail, (4356 Ridge Road, Mt. Airy, MD 21771)
Race-day packet pickup (At South Carroll High School): 9:00 until 9:45 am. Race Day late registration closes at 9:30 am. Start: South Carroll High School, (Route 26), 1300 W. Old Liberty Road Sykesville, Maryland 21784 Finish: Taylorsville UMC, 4356 Ridge Road, Mt. Airy, MD 21771 Parking: near start At South Carroll High School, there will be a shuttle running every 20 minutes to take runners from TUMC back to SCHS. At finish line: live music, snacks, pulled pork sandwiches. Awards at: 11:15 AM

5K Run to the Cross April 19, 2014 Taylorsville United Methodist Church http://www.taylorsvilleumc.org/ Click here for more info. http://www.taylorsvilleumc.org/index_files/runtothecross.htm According to information from the Taylorsville United Methodist Church website, Join us for our first ever Run To The Cross. This is a 5 K run from South Carroll High School to Taylorsville United Methodist Church (TUMC). (You can run this or walk this 5 K.) This 5 K run will travel west on Route 26, cross Route 27 (with State Police help) and travel south on Route 27 to TUMC. At the end of the race enjoy live music, pulled pork sandwiches (free for runners) and the final awards ceremony. This run is a joint venture brought to you by TUMC and SCHSs Fellowship of Christian Athletes. (FCA) Proceeds will be given to both the FCA and the No More Malaria Campaign. (Every 60 seconds a child dies in Africa of Malaria. This campaign has already cut that number in half, we want to stop deaths from malaria.) Your entry fee will be tax deductible. There are two ways to register: One is to download the run entry form, fill it out, and mail it back to TUMC along with a check. Please register by April 6th. The registration fee is $10 for students; $15 for SCHS Alum; and $20 for adults. The second way to register is to click below.
