Introit Minister : Christ Has Risen All - He has risen indeed Welcome 410 Jesus Christ is Risen Today 1 Jesus Christ is risen today, Alleluia ! our triumphant holy day, Alleluia ! who did once, upon the cross, Alleluia ! suffer to redeem our loss. Alleluia ! 2 Hymns of praise then let us sing unto Christ, our heavenly King, who endured the cross and grave, sinners to redeem and save. 3 But the anguish he endured our salvation has procured ; now in heavn Christ is King, where the angels ever sing. 4 Sing we to our God above praise eternal as his love ; praise him, all you heavenly host, Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Lyra Davidica, 1708 (alt.) Reading Matthew Gospel - 28:1-10 Prayer Minister - Lord of life Congregation - Hear Us Lords Prayer Our father in Heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who sin against us. Save us from the time of trial and deliver us form evil. For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours now and for ever Amen An Easter Story - the Box

Junior Praise 60 Gods Not Dead He is alive God's not dead (no), He is alive, God's not dead (no), He is alive, God's not dead (no), He is alive! Serve Him with my hands, follow with my feet, love Him in my heart, know Him in my life; for Hes alive in me. Anon Altered 1986 Horrobin/Leavers The Promise of the Empty Tomb - Powerpoint Presentation The Promise of the Empty Tomb The promise of the empty tomb Rips the rug from under your feet, And says hold on tight Were going for a ride Into the deep unknown The promise of the empty tomb Says the story doesnt end the way You think it will. Yes, your future is set in stone, But I carved it and its beautiful The promise of the empty tomb Says you are worth so much more Than you think you are You are to die for And I did The promise of the empty tomb Drives nails through darkness And says trust me I have a plan And it is good The promise of the empty tomb Rolls back the stone Dances on death And says why are you crying, Dont you know me?

425 The Saviour died, but rose again PARAPHRASE 48, verses 59 1 The Saviour died, but rose again triumphant from the grave ; and pleads our cause at Gods right hand, omnipotent to save. Who then can eer divide us more from Jesus and his love, or break the sacred chain that binds the earth to heaven above ? 3 Let troubles rise, and terrors frown, and days of darkness fall ; through him all dangers well defy, and more than conquer all. 4 Nor death nor life, nor earth nor hell, nor times destroying sway, can eer efface us from his heart, or make his love decay. 5 Each future period that will bless, as it has blessed the past : he loved us from the first of time, he loves us to the last. Scottish Paraphrases, 1781 Romans 8: 34end 2 Sermon - The promise of the empty tomb Mission praise - 1072 In Christ Alone In Christ alone my hope is found, He is my light, my strength, my song; this Cornerstone, this solid Ground, firm through the fiercest drought and storm. What heights of love, what depths of peace, when fears are stilled, when strivings cease! My Comforter, my All in All, here in the love of Christ I stand. In Christ alone! who took on flesh Fulness of God in helpless babe! This gift of love and righteousness Scorned by the ones he came to save: Till on that cross as Jesus died, The wrath of God was satisfied For every sin on Him was laid; Here in the death of Christ I live. There in the ground His body lay Light of the world by darkness slain: Then bursting forth in glorious Day Up from the grave he rose again! And as He stands in victory Sin's curse has lost its grip on me, For I am His and He is mine Bought with the precious blood of Christ.

No guilt in life, no fear in death, This is the power of Christ in me; From life's first cry to final breath. Jesus commands my destiny. No power of hell, no scheme of man, Can ever pluck me from His hand; Till He returns or calls me home, Here in the power of Christ I'll stand Video Presentation - Setting Out Once Again (http://www.theworkofthepeople.com/setting-out-once-again) Out of the stale darkness, he rises into the light, bright rays of sun split the tops of trees, and clouds depart and blue fills sky the smell of angels lingers in the air his hair feels the cool breeze again This was not the garden, but a new world made from the eruption of hope and a life that could not be held down. We were witnesses to the life that rose from the dead Gods relentless love, who comes close to us moving stones from tombs opening the heart to another possibility death no longer stands My heart races in my chest as I step forward to face the future my future that I grasp with open hands with new navet a child toward a mother to be held and lifted up, and cradled with care. At times I hesitate I grasp onto memories of what once was but I know that I am not alone in my apprehension I feel the hands of others holding me. These are my sisters, my brothers who are not strangers to my fears and frailties who have also confronted a hope that frightens them who can feel their own scars, both fresh and old they step in pace with me the weeping women at the gravesite the scared disciples waiting in the upper room.

This is our future where we walk together toward our new home built by the hands of a wounded king the new Zion forsaking the kingdoms marked by boarders and divides where all our settlements are only temporary shelters sanctuaries of rest for the wounded and weary Then the Christ returns to visit us, as Galilees boats pull to shore these places seem familiar the lapping water and the sand but we are not to return to these lands nor those dreams but become pilgrims to set our belongings in another home to wash our sandy feet in some other place, to lay down our tired souls on a distant promise, quilted from both the today and the tomorrow. And we dine as a day sees another setting sun sitting across from each other once again seeing each sweet face laughing deeply feeling whole once more And we see the Saviours smile, he knows our journeys end and pours us another cup full of his own love and this time, our eyes tell him that we understand. Prayers for others 419 Thine be the glory, risen, conquering Son, A toi la gloire, O Ressuscit 1 Thine be the glory, risen, conquering Son, endless is the victory thou oer death hast won ; angels in bright raiment rolled the stone away, kept the folded grave-clothes, where thy body lay. Thine be the glory, risen, conquering Son, endless is the victory thou oer death hast won. Lo ! Jesus meets us, risen from the tomb ; lovingly he greets us, scatters fear and gloom ; let the Church with gladness hymns of triumph sing, for her Lord now liveth ; death hath lost its sting.

No more we doubt thee, glorious Prince of Life ; life is naught without thee : aid us in our strife ; make us more than conquerors, through thy deathless love : bring us safe through Jordan to thy home above. Edmond Budry (18541932) translated Richard Birch Hoyle (18751939) Benediction When it takes hold, resurrection doesnt let go, it shakes the dead awake, it shakes the darkness from the light, it shakes the silence from our throats and it wrestles death from all that is dying Let us go out into the world and in the upheaval of resurrection seek out the life
