Post Graduate Traineeship Programme 2014 Young STEM professionals for German Enterprises
Background:
The Make it in Germany initiative is a part of this Qualified Professionals Initiative of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy in cooperation with the International Placement Service of the Federal Employment Agency (BA). It is being implemented in India by the Deutsche Gesellschaft fr Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH. The trainees will be required to undertake a fourmonth language and intercultural preparation out of which three months will be spent in India. The language preparation will take place in an institute identified by the GIZ, in Delhi or a major city in India. After completing the language course the candidates will be ready for placements in companies in Germany. They will expand their language and intercultural skills and gain practical work experience in Germany. This will improve the placement opportunities for subsequent employment. At the completion of 4 months of successful traineeship in a German Enterprise, the candidate will be eligible for permanent employment in Germany according to the provisions of the EU Blue Card.

Eligibility:
Candidates should hold a university degree comparable degree by a German University in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) Candidates with a Bachelors / Masters Degree in Computer Science Civil Engineering Energy Electronics Mechanical Engineering Mechatronics Excellent English language skills A2 level of certified proficiency in German Language

Information on participating firms:


The participants will spend 4 months in a German firm from the Small and Medium Enterprises group. The programme is in cooperation with those German firms which have scope to offer positions in the area of the traineeship. The placement in the respective firm will take place in accordance with terms agreed with the participating firm.

The Traineeship programme:


The Graduate Traineeship programme, is an employment-based training program which addresses qualified and motivated young post graduate students from engineering science disciplines of Indian Universities, who are about to begin a new professional career and wish to enhance their skills and prepare themselves for a career in Germany. The aim of the traineeship programme is to provide trainees with an understanding of German work culture along with an opportunity to enhance their German language skills, acquire practical knowledge and professional experience.

Costs:
GIZ will cover the cost of language courses in India along with the applicable visa fees. The travel to the Indian city where the language course is held and the accommodation in the city will be borne by the candidate. Furthermore, the cost of traveling to Germany, health insurance in Germany, the language course in Germany and the accommodation during the further qualification phase in Germany are financed by GIZ. In addition, participants will receive a pocket money of 400 Euro and a lump sum travel allowance for their travel from the language school to the place of training. During the traineeship, the participants get a gross salary of 1100/- Euros directly paid by the firm hosting the traineeship. The participants will take care of their health insurance, accommodation and living expenses themselves during the Traineeship phase.
