UNL Childrens Center January 2014- present

I currently work at the Childrens Center on campus as an assistant in the Pre -Toddler (ages 1-2) room. I also received a certification in CPR and First Aid through this job.

Union Caffina

January 2014- present

I currently work as a cashier and barista at the coffee shop in the Nebraska Union. I make coffee drinks as well as perform cleaning and closing procedures.

In the summer I am employed here as a cashier and snow cone maker. I perform cleaning and closing duties as well.

I worked at this local donut shop throughout high school as a cashier and front counter worker. I made coffee drinks, packaged donuts, and performed cleaning, closing, and opening duties.

Assistant to Director of Campus Activities December 2013

Fellow members of the Alpha Phi chapter at UNL elected me as Assistant to Campus Activities for the Spring Semester of 2014. I will assist the Director of Campus Activities with various duties, including promoting involvement in clubs and activities on campus, coordinating different activities with other chapters of the UNL Greek system, and assisting in any tasks the Director of Campus Activities asks of me.

New Member Development Committee

August 2013- December 2013

I was nominated by my pledge class of 46 girls to be one of two freshmen members of the New Member Development Committee for the Fall Semester of 2013. I met once a week with this committee to insure any and all questions members of Alpha Phi had were answered. Members came to us with questions and concerned and we made sure to address and fix any problems that were expressed amongst the chapter. We also helped to plan different events such as Winter Formal and safety meetings.

Varsity Dance Team Co-Captain

May 2012- March 2013

I was selected by my dance team coach to be Co-Captain of Millard West Dance Teams varsity team during my senior year. I assisted in choreography development, scheduling practices, leading certain practices, assisting in the designing of costume ideas, and serving as a leader figure for the rest of my teammates.

Unlimited Possibilities, Inc. Coordinator

August 2011- March 2013

For two years I served as one of 5 coordinators of the Special Friends Homecoming and Prom dances through Unlimited Possibilities, Inc. I helped plan the two dances each year by setting the dates, obtaining donations from various nearby companies and families, making decorations, finding and hiring a DJ, making invitations, designing t-shirts, and setting up the day of the dance.

40 Developmental Assets Leader

August 2011- May 2013

Within the 40 Development Assets Club at my high school, I was selected leader of Monday morning activities with the Special Education students. Once a month I would plan different activities to do with the students in the Special Education room. I recruited volunteers and together we would meet in the Special Education room before school started on Mondays to do fun activities with the students. This helped the students with disabilities feel included by participating in different activities with the volunteers and myself.

VSP Club

August 2013- present

I currently volunteer at the VSP Club in Omaha, NE during breaks and free weekends. The VSP club is a building where individuals with disabilities of any age can hang out on weekend nights. Volunteers hang out with the individuals, serve snacks, and assist the coordinators with different various tasks.

Miss Amazing Pageant

2013- present

I have been a full-day volunteer Buddy at the Iowa Miss Amazing pageant as well as the Nebraska Mi ss Amazing pageant. The Miss Amazing Pageants are beauty pageants for girls with disabilities. Buddies were paired with a contestant and help her throughout the entire day, practicing for interviews and walking on stage, getting hair and makeup ready for the show, and escorting them throughout the day

Community Internship

August 2012- May 2013

Through my high school, I participated in a community internship in the Special Education room for the entire school year during one class period. I assisted the teachers and paraprofessionals with anything they needed. I also got to work with the students in the classroom and was given the opportunity to lead a lesson once a semester.

Younkers Teen Ambassador

August 2012- May 2013

Through an application process, I was selected as a Younkers Teen Ambassador. Teen Ambassadors participated in various community service activities, and helped run Younkers Community Day. 2

Career Goals
I plan to pursue a degree in Special Education: Mild/Moderate Disabilities (7-12) in my four years at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln and teach Special Education at a high school level or at a program for students with disabilities after they graduate high school. I also plan on studying abroad in London, England during the Spring Semester of my sophomore year.
