Mr Taylor, After doing a quick web search of your name, and having discovered your links to the astro-turfing,

misinformation group 'Stop These Things' (a connection that I had hoped the seat of Hume would have lost after your predecessor Mr Schultz moved on), I am not hopeful that you will bother listening to what I have to say, or even that you will bother reading beyond the subject line. Nonetheless I will continue and hope you will do your job as a representative of your constituents instead of what you got into politics for - to represent the interests of big business and powerful lobby groups. I have been angered today by what I am hearing of the farcical situation unfolding behind the scenes of the RET review. The fact that a climate change denier with close industry ties is leading the panel, and that a consultancy with close ties to the fossil fuel industry and whose previous dubious "research" fuelled the FF industry's attack on the RET in 2012 would be employed to carry out this review is bad enough. But the review is refusing to actually measure the benefits of renewable energy (in something called a RENEWABLE ENERGY TARGET REVIEW I would have thought this would be a pretty basic inclusion in the scope of this study). It was already known amongst anybody without a vested interest that this was going to be a farcical joke of a review. But it is turning out to exceed all of our expectations. No effort is being made to show any sort of impartiality. This is a committee set up to remove any incentive this country might have for getting itself off the addiction of dirty, unsustainable, corrupt, and unhealthy fossil fuelled electricity generation. The RET has made it possible for 2 million Australian households (and growing) to install renewable energy systems to reduce their power bills and has generated millions of dollars in investment and thousands of jobs in regional areas. Australians want more renewable energy - not less. Polling supports that. If you truly want lower power bills for your constituents, you will stop telling the lie that the Renewable Energy Target drives up power bills, and start telling the truth. If you have made it this far (much to my surprise) then I will implore you to read 'Sustainable Energy Solutions to Climate Change' by Mark Diesendorf http://www.publish.csiro.au/pid/7308.htm. I'm sure will you find it somewhere on the vast shelves donated to George Brandis by us taxpayers. This book presents a fact based argument based on years of global research that shows that the future of our electricity production lies in renewable energy. Not only is it technically possible, it is becoming more and more economical too. RE will overtake coal in this country sooner or later and whether you like it or not. You as a free-marketeer must surely know that, so stop trying to stand in the way. If you listen to facts instead of your bias, you will agree with the conclusions made in this book. But somehow I doubt the facts will make it past the corrupt bias that your party is well known for.

Yours sincerely, Joel Anderson
