Malcolm Jackson 1 The Palestinian Question There are many untold evils existing in the West Bank and

Gaza Strip between the territories Palestine and Israel. And all the evil centers on the apartheid that divides the Palestinian and Israeli people. Because of this modern day stone wall, the Palestinian people are coerced to fight for their existence, their humanity, and their land. Consequence of the resistance of Palestinian people to Israeli occupation, there has been lot of blood shed defining a revolt known as the Intifada1. (Jackson) The intifada was the response to Israeli militia, through occupation, closing the schools, processing plants, shops, and roads of the Palestinian people. Palestinian citizens were senselessly murdered in the streets of West Bank and Palestinian children had to resort to underground schools for education (Ricks 92). There are even Palestinian college-students who fear for their life each day they get up for class (Occupation 101, film). If this is the case existing in the Middle East then why dont we know about or why must we not know about it? According to foreign relations journalist Robert Fisk, the root of our ignorance lies within the careless nature of western nations who, in which Fisk fears, bought the old lie; that Israelis take such great care to avoid civilian casualties, (Fisk). Whats more appalling is that our own nation, the United States of America, our government, has been a lead support system for the Israeli people to carry out their evils (Jackson). Wow! Im not an Anti-American, nor am I a critic of the government, and no I do not lack a moral sense. In conclusion, to answer the Palestinian question; how do we become a part to ending the Israeli occupation and restore peace in the West Bank and Gaza Strip? We, simply cant. But if we as citizens voice our opinion to our government to end its senseless funding to the Israeli militia, then maybe we can become part of the solution moving forward.
