PROFILE I was born on February 16, 1995. I recently graduated from Cedar Park High School in Cedar Park, TX in June 2013. I attend The University of Texas at Austin and am majoring in journalism with an emphasis in sports journalism. I was part of the Newsies FIG in the Moody College of Communication for Fall 2013, and am now a FIG mentor for the Newsies FIG for Fall 2014. EXPERIENCE LIFEGUARD, CITY OF CEDAR PARK; CEDAR PARK, TX MAY 2011 - AUGUST 2011 In order to be a Lifeguard for the City of Cedar Park, I became EA-certified as well as CPR-certified. We went through a multiweek training process where we learned to perform different extractions from the water and certain protocols. I lifeguarded multiple age groups, ranging from toddlers learning how to swim to the Cedar Park swim team and to adults that swam laps. Also during every shift, we had an in-service from noon to 1 oclock, where we practiced given scenarios and were graded on how accurately we performed them. SOCCER COACH, THE SOCCERPLEX AT CEDAR PARK; CEDAR PARK, TX OCTOBER 2012 - AUGUST 2013 I was employed as a Lil Kickers soccer coach in an indoor soccer facility. I coached children ranging in age from 18 months to 12 years. Before I could teach my own class I had to go through a group interview and shadow a more experienced coach for a couple weeks. During a shift, I also cleaned around the facility (cleaning toilets, counters, etc.) and operated the cash register. I also coached house teams in 3v3 games and refereed indoor games. CLERK/CASHIER, CVS PHARMACY/CAREMARK; AUSTIN, TX AUGUST 2013 - PRESENT Currently I am employed as a clerk and cashier with CVS Pharmacy/Caremark. I run the cash register as as well as fill out photo orders. Dealing with the photography side of my job, I take passport photos and enter photo orders into our system and work the photo kiosk. I stack the shelves, and front the store. To front the store means to bring all the items already on the shelf to the edge of the shelf with the label facing outwards towards the customer. I also am constantly cleaning around the store doing things like vacuuming, dusting and mopping. I normally have a closing shift as well, so I know how to lock up the store and make it presentable for the next day.
