ThisDEECDendorsedcourserunsfrom4Juneto29October2014andprovidesVictorian teacherswithaflexibleprofessionaldevelopmentprogramshowcasingthewaysinwhich teachersfromaroundthestateareaddingvaluetoteachingandlearningthrough effectiveandseamlessuseofICTintheclassroom.

Theprogramwillprovidepracticalexamplesofhowprimaryandsecondaryteachersareenhancingtheir curriculumdeliveryandstudentlearningthroughauthenticandeffectiveuseofICT,virtualcommunitiesand Web2.0tools.TheopeningsessionwillfeatureakeynoteaddressandworkshopfromWillRichardson,an internationallyrecognisededucator,writerandthinkerontheintersectionofsocialmediaandeducation.

ThecourseassumesthatparticipantswillhavebasicICTskills,butis targetedatthosewantingtoenhancetheirknowledge,skillsand curriculumdelivery.

apracticaloverviewofhowteachersareseamlesslyusingICTintheirteachingtoenhancestudentlearning. abetterunderstandingofthetools,resources,learningcommunitiesandcollaborativepossibilitiesother teachersareexploringthroughICT. clear,practicalexamplesofhowtousereadilyavailablesoftware,devices,Web2.0toolsandlearning communitiestoaddvaluetoteachingandlearningatschool. anopportunitytoparticipatewithotherVictorianeducatorsinaninquirybasedlearningprojectdesignedto assistparticipantsandtheirschools.Projectsareguidedbyacoachingteamofexperiencededucators.

Participantsareexpectedtoallocatearoundonehourperweekoutsideschoolhoursengagingonlinewithother courseparticipants.DEECDcoverscoursecosts.SchoolscoverCRTsifrequiredfortwofacetofacedays.

TheTeachingandLearninginthe21stCenturyprogramwillinclude:
AnopeningfacetofaceeventonWednesday4JuneatNMIT(PrestonCampus). Sixonehourwebconferenceswithleadingclassroompractitionerscoveringtopicsthatinclude:General CapabilitiesintheAustralianCurriculum,ProfessionalLearningNetworks,CollaborationandInquiryBased Learning,ParentEngagement,andMakingEffectiveUseoftheRangeofDevicesAvailabletoStudents. InstructorledprofessionaldevelopmentforteachersincludingonlineforumsandWeb2.0resourcesthat empowerlearning,collaborationandcommunicationforstudentsandteachers.ThesewillincludeGlobal2, FuseandcloudsuitessuchasMicrosoftOffice365forEducationandGoogleAppsforEducation. AselfselectedInquirybasedlearningprojectwithateamofotherVictorianeducators. AculminatingfacetofaceeventonTuesday29OctoberatNMIT(PrestonCampus).
