Executive Committee Applications



Dear Applicants,

Thank you for expressing interest in UTIHP UTSC! We look forward to reviewing your
applications and forming another strong committee for the 2014/2015 school year.

The purpose of UTIHP UTSC is to train global citizens for tomorrow. UTIHP creates
initiatives to engage the student body around global health issues, connects students
with an interest in global health, and inspires students to take action in addressing the
global health challenges. As a student based group each member will engage, connect
and contribute by applying skills to meaningful contributions in the local community
and make networks with like-minded individuals. This initiative is based on functions
that target students with a burgeoning passion for global health and how to connect
its various elements to every student, and professional attending UTSC.

Please be sure to answer all questions and send completed applications along

You are able to apply for more than one position, but please indicate in preferential
order which position interests you most.

Director of Administration
- Must be a student in the first, second or third year so that they may
continue their work the following year on UTIHP UTSC, acting as an advisor
- Responsible for the overall logistical aspects for UTIHP as a club on campus
and any events UTIHP may decide to hold.
- Collaborates effectively with team members in coordinating and developing
itineraries and schedules
- Responsible for thinking of and implementing fundraising initiatives for the
organization and for community services
- Responsible for booking rooms for meeting as well as maintaining meeting
minutes, whether it be weekly or biweekly, whilst ensuring that the
executive committee is informed and aware of the meeting location as it
may alter
- Responsible for the overall smooth function of UTIHP UTSC

Director of Social Media
- Responsible for managing UTIHP's social media presence. This includes
weekly updates on the UTIHP UTSC Facebook, Twitter, & Instagram pages.
- Responsible updating and maintaining the Population Health and Policy
website
Director of Marketing
- Designs all promotional material for UTIHP UTSC
- Coordinates all of UTIHP UTSC's publicity, promotional material, and
interactions with media (i.e. UTSCs Underground, other magazines on
campus such as Minds Matter Magazine & Juxtaposition, clubs week etc).
- Responsible for engaging with the department of student life when it comes
to Intranet announcements
- Responsible for engaging with any other UTSC campus groups, DSAs and
administration
- Responsible for maintaining external relationships that could be beneficial
to future UTIHP UTSC events
Director of Public Relations
- Gathers support from the student body with respect to any event UTIHP
may decide to hold
- Obtains and maintains partnerships with possible sponsors such as in the
field of retail, food, and local campus organizations.
- Works closely with various team members to develop marketing strategies
- Responsible for the UTIHP UTSC Monthly Newsletter, as well as the issue of
it
Director of Finance
- Responsible for maintaining financial records of the club, budgeting, and
allocating funds for desired projects/events.
- Maintains a bank account, which will be set-up for the club's funds.
Responsible for any weekly deposits at the bank and keeps track of any
expenditures/ receipts with an official UTSC UTIHP finances book
- Acts as main advisor of budget allocation in terms of events/projects UTIHP
UTSC may decide to hold and is responsible for financial compensations
that must be made.
- Responsible for updating co directors on a weekly basis of
the organizations financial status

Director of Research X 2
- Responsible for researching current global health issues or events that may
assist the UTIHP committee in developing new ideas for events or
promotions on or off campus.
- Responsible for any local research on charitable organizations for future
events
- Responsible for helping with any UTSC UTIHP events, specifically
pertaining to any research that may be done in order to receive funding or
sponsors
- Responsible for posting findings, news, events and other information onto
the official Juxtaposition/ GHE website
- Responsible for the UTIHP UTSC Monthly Newsletter, as well as the issue of
it
