Informal Observation with the Performance of the Readers Theatre.
Explain how you will know students understand the concepts from the lesson.
Students must be able to participate in the Readers Theatre as well as discuss with
their partners, during closure, about the part that they acted out.
I. Closure:
Think-pair-share discussing the Readers Theatre.
J. Reflection:
1. Which part of the lesson do you think will be the easiest for you to teach?
I think the part of the lesson about reviewing the unit thus far will be the easiest
since we will be talking about stuff we have already learned.
2. Which part will be most challenging for you to teach?
The most challenging part of teaching might be actually splitting the students into
small groups to complete the readers theatre. From personal experience,
sometimes it is hard to put students in groups where they will actually be
productive.
3. How will you follow up or extend this lesson?
The extension for this lesson is going to be the students taking a field trip to a bank
to kind of tie up all the things that we have learned for the week.
4. What can you do for students who dont grasp the concepts?
The students who are having a hard time, I will work with them to understand their
parts or maybe assign them a part that is not as difficult or long as the others. This
way everyone still gets to participate.
5. Which part of the lesson, if any, do you think might need to change?
I think that this lesson is very interactive for students. I am not sure that I would
change much. The only thing that I might add is having my class perform the
Readers Theatre for other classroom to kind of excite the students about
performing.
6. When you were writing this lesson plan, what was the most difficult part?
The most difficult part of this lesson was coming up with an assessment to go along
with it.
