MONDAYEVANGELISTIC PRAYER
Chronological Bible Reading: 2 Ki ngs 19- 21; John 1: 26- 51
Monday, May 12
John 15: 19 If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are
not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world,
Holy Lord and Savior:
Your grace has made the difference in my life. Wont you also make
__________ and __________ the special objects of your affection and the
personal recipients of your grace? Give me opportunitiesmore opportunities
to reach out to them with your love. But Holy Spirit, you must choose them
before they can choose you. Give them a covenant-agreement through grace.
Make them a party to the gospel, and adopt them into the whole family of God.
Lord, you died to bring them to glory. Father, you promised to give
everlasting life to all who believe in Jesus name. Now Holy Spirit, do your work
of drawing their souls, invisibly but impassionedly, to Jesus.
When David danced before the ark, he told Michal that Gods choosing of
him made him do it (2 Sam. 6:21). I also rejoice in your electing grace. My soul
leaps for joy that you have chosen me out of this world.
! You have chosen to bring me out of the world
! You have chosen me from among the worldlings
! You have chosen me to be different than the world
! You have chosen me to be separate from the world
! You have chosen me to receive a different reward than the punishment
the world deserves
Oh Lord, that you would also choose them! Choose my friends who are on
my heart. Choose my relatives who do not yet understand the gospel, and so do
not yet know Jesus. May they see his love in my love for them. Choose them and
draw them, and empower me to bring the gospel to them for Jesus sake. Amen.
TUESDAYFOCUS ON CHRISTS PRAYER LIFE
Chronological Bible Reading: 2 Ki ngs 22- 25; John 2
Tuesday, May 13
Mark 6: 46 And when he had sent them away, he departed into a mountain to pray.
Great Lord and Master:
The prayer life of Christ teaches me that in order to have blessing on
special times of prayer, I have to abound in continual prayer at other times. I
am so ashamed for my spasmodic efforts at revival. Make my special seasons of
prayer the ordinary outgrowth of an already active life of prayer.
Prayer is the vital sustenance of my spiritual life. No matter what else is
missing, there has to be prayer. I may meet someone for prayer on Sunday, but
help me keep-up prayer throughout the week. Lord, turn my every event into a
convenient time for a season of prayer!
You sent me out into the world on the same mission you came into the
world to achieve. When you came, your mission included intercession. Maybe I
am my familys only priest, carrying them before the throne of grace. The
ungodly are deaf to your word and dumb to your Spirit, but why should I be like
them? The door of grace is always open. The veil was torn for me, so I could pass
through it in prayer.
Since you constantly invite me to prayer, let me not refuse the privilege at
any time during today. Why should I refuse an opportunity that angels envy to
take? I am part of the bride of Christ. I need to fall on my face and pray for the
strong lest they become proud, and pray for the weak lest they totally despair.
In a world full of the idols of materialism and the cruelties of lust, if I do
not depart into a mountain to pray, how will I live like Jesus? Help me retreat, in just
that way, begging for revival in our church. It will be no wonder I see no blessing
if I do not seek it.
Deny me not. Open your hand for Jesus blessed sake. Amen.
WEDNESDAYREVIVAL PRAYING
Chronological Bible Reading: 1 Chroni c l es 1- 3; John 3
Wednesday, May 14
Ps a. 145: 12 To make known to the sons of men his mighty acts, and the glorious
majesty of his kingdom.
Heavenly God:
Give me revival, and let it be mine not from the teeth outward, but from
the heart outward. I long for it with my heart and soul and strength. Make it
known. It is by making known the gospel that men and women are given new
life. It is by making known your word in my life that I am revived. Tell me the
things my understanding can grasp and my memory can retain. Give me a full and
comprehensive view of the doctrines of grace. I use the argument of mercy:
Isa. 60: 10 in my wrath I smote thee, but in my favour have I had mercy on thee.
I do not appeal to merit, but to mercy. I do not deserve it, but I claim it. O
God, have mercy on my poor church and visit us, reviving us again.
Sin runs down our streets. We have a fringe of elegant conceit against
things that are not politically correct, but behind it we have a mass of cancer.
There is not only the immorality of the street at night, but the dishonesty of
commerce by day. Cheating and thieving take place on a grand scale. Little
thieves are punished while big robbers go untouched! This is a wicked city full of
drunkenness and fornication and superstitious idolatry.
Rev. 3: 8 I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no
man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my
name.
I have but little strength. I desire to keep your word. Refresh me! Restore
us to your power and let us yet be great in the land, for that way the lost will
inquire, What then is God saying to me? May they be led to seek salvation
because I have been revived! Revive your work for mercys sake today. Amen.
A DAILY PATTERN FOR PRAYER & BIBLE READING
Chronological Bible Reading: 1 Chroni c l es 4- 6; John 4: 1- 27
Thursday, May 15
Josh. 6: 5 And it shall come to pass, that when they make a long blast with the rams
horn, and when ye hear the sound of the trumpet, all the people shall shout with a great shout;
and the wall of the city shall fall down flat, and the people shall ascend up every man straight
before him.
O FOR a shout of sacred joy to God the sovreign King!
Let evry land their tongues employ, and hymns of triumph sing.
Jesus our God ascends on high, His heavnly guards around
Attend Him rising through the sky, with trumpets joyful sound.

While angels shout and praise their King, let mortals learn their strains;
Let all the earth His honors sing; oer all the earth He reigns.
Rehearse His praise with awe profound, let knowledge lead the song,
Nor mock Him with a solemn sound upon a thoughtless tongue.

In Isrel stood His ancient throne, He lovd that chosen race;
But now He calls the world His own, and heathens taste His grace.
The British islands are the Lords, there Abrahams God is known;
While powers and princes, shields and swords, submit before His throne.

Isaac Watts, Psalm 47, The Psalms of David, 1719

FRIDAY CORPORATE PRAYER MINISTRY
Chronological Bible Reading: 1 Chroni c l es 7- 9; John 4: 28- 54
Friday, May 16
Deut . 31: 8 And the LORD, he it is that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he
will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed.
Glorious Lord:
We are in the act of a great work and a great warfare as we get set for Camp
and summer outreach. Let us use this verse to buckle on our harness, because if
the Lord himself goes before us, then we should surely be able to follow him.
Who can obstruct the progress of your plan if God himself is in our convoy?
Lord, we have many friends in the family of faith. We have many co-
laborers in the work, both here and abroad. Help all of us advance today in your
will. Let none of us hesitate to go to victory, which will come by following you.
I thank you Lord, that you are not just for us; you are with us. That means
you are above us to protect from attack by the prince and power of the air. It
means you are beneath us to protect from being pulled down by despair. It means
you surround us so there is not the possibility of unforeseen calamity, and it means
you are in our midst to support us against every adversary and adversity.
Whoa! That should strengthen our arms because you will not fail us. Help
us dash boldly forward in what you want us to do, because from time into
eternity, you go before us and will not forsake us. Being before us and with us,
you will never withdraw from us. Your help cannot fail because it is rooted in
yourself. Help us according to our many needs today. Since you will not fail us,
do not forsake us; we desperately need your presence. Sustain us until the shout.
Thank you Lord, for handling our fear and dispelling our dismay. Dismay
means to be beaten down by confusion and fear. But if you carry out the fight,
we have no fear, and if we follow you we have no confusion. Give us the victory
in Christ Jesus our Lord, and to the glory of his name. Amen.
SATURDAYIN THE PSALMS
Chronological Bible Reading: 1 Chroni c l es 10- 12; John 5: 1- 23
Saturday, May 17
Ps a. 38: 4 For mine iniquities are gone over mine head: as an heavy burden they are
too heavy for me.
O Lord My God:
My sorrows are such that they over-press me, and endanger my dishonoring
your name and your gospel. My pains and my weaknesses hinder me from your
service, and sometimes I feel like I am useless to be on earth. These things have
already been continuing for so long, I fear my flesh will not be able to hold out,
nor my spirit able to bear up, if your hand abide thus heavy upon me.
If this sin be not subdued in me, or that temptation be not removed, I fear
I will be turned-aside from the paths of righteousness, and will let go of my hope.
For your mercys sake, O Lord, save me from sin. Your lovingkindness is
infinite. Let this infinite lovingkindness be displayed in my deliverance! You are
wise, O God, and though my haters are crafty, you can disappoint their devices.
You know how, by your wondrous counsels, to turn my sorrows into joy.
You can find a way for my relief when all people stand afar off, and say they see
no way to help me. You are almighty and all-sufficient. Your presence can
suppress my fears immediately, vanquish the tempter, break the power of
darkness to pieces, release me from the bondage of my corruption, and bring me
into the glorious liberty of the children of God. You are just and righteous, and
will not let the enemy oppress forever. You are sovereign and all things are at
your command. You can say to pains and diseases, Go, or, Come.
Speak therefore your word of healing and my flesh and my soul will praise
you. You delight in pardoning grace. It is the honor of God to forgive. Let all my
iniquities be canceled through the abundance of your rich mercy. In Jesus name I
ask it. Amen.

HARVEST BAPTIST CHURCH

HOW TO BUILD A BALANCED LIFE

1) TIMEWORSHIP
Mark 1:35 And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and
departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.
GIVE GOD THE FIRST PART OF EVERY DAY. The first commitment is
to a daily quiet time with God. Our weekly Prayer Diary provides a template for daily
devotions.

2) TITHEWORK
1 Cor 16:2 Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as
God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come.
GIVE GOD THE FIRST DIME OF EVERY DOLLARno questions
asked. Ten percent is a miniscule amount in our affluent society, but it must come
off the top in order to show that God is our priority. We want the blessing of the
firstfruits (first devotion, first dime and first day) to flow out to the rest of our
resources.

3) TEAMWORD
Heb 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is;
but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
GIVE GOD THE FIRST DAY OF EVERY WEEK. You should fellowship
with a group of believers around the word of God every Sunday in our church.

QUALITY CHRISTIANITY INVOLVES THREE THINGS
" Keeping Christ at the center (your core relationship of worship to God)
" Keeping the body of Christ a priority (your congregational relationship of
walking with us)
" Basing beliefs and actions on the mind of Christ (your church relationship in
the Word)

PRAYER DIARY

# INTERCEDE WITH GOD # INSTRUCT SAINTS
# PROMPT PETITIONS # KICKSTART DEVOTION

INSTRUCTIONS:

Baptists tend to ridicule liturgical churches that use "prepared prayers" because
they lack spontaneity. But for many Baptists, their prayers are so predictable they are
no more spontaneous than written-out prayers. The result is we end up praying the
same things over and over.
This daily Prayer Diary will prompt you on a wide range of prayer requests you
might not normally think of, while forcing you to articulate a deeper devotion to
God. We have included a daily Bible reading schedule. This plan will take you
through the Bible chronologically in a year.
Do not read ahead and do not try to catch up. Use each day as it comes. Then
you can know that on any given day, dozens of other people are lifting their hearts in
the same mind to God. Pray what is written, but use what is prayed as a springboard
for your own relationship with God. You learn to pray by praying.
Alan

Secret prayer is the secret of prayer, the soul of prayer, the seal of prayer, the
strength of prayer. If you do not pray alone you do not pray at all. Our Lord Jesus
Christ would go nowhere till He had prayed. He would attempt nothing till He had
prayed.
Oh, says one, I live in the spirit of prayer, and therefore I do not need times
and seasons for prayer. And do you think that Christ did not live in the spirit of
prayer? Yet He had to have his special time and place to pray. Do not fall under the
injurious notion that because your spirit cries to God in prayer all day long, therefore
there must not be some season for more immediately coming into Gods presence. If
you imagine this, I am afraid that it will prove a snare to your feet. The Lord Jesus
Christ, who knew better than you do that the main thing is the spirit of prayer rather
than the act of prayer, yet Himself retired into desert places to maintain the act and
exercise of prayer. Be spiritual. Be baptized into the spirit of prayer. But do not be
deceived by the enemy, who can steal a spirit away while we dream that we only
spiritualize it. We had better preserve the very bones of prayerthe posture, the
time, placerather than let it all ooze away into an impalpable mental condition.
God keep us prayerful. He will do so if He makes us like His dear Son.
Charles H. Spurgeon, 1834-92
