Scholastic had organised a maths workshop based on 'Model Method of solving mathematical problems'. 6. Madhuban publications organised an English workshop based on 'Creative & Effective communication'. 7. A workshop was conducted by Dr. Ali Khwaja and Dr. Rajdeep of Banjara Academy 8. A workshop on the latest teaching methodologies and classroom strategies for pre- primary teachers, was conducted by the Oxford University Press. 9. A workshop on Early Screening and Identification of Sensory and Behavioral problems in young children, was conducted by the Foundation for the Prevention of Disability and Spastics Society of Karnataka.
INTER SCHOOL ACTIVITIES: 1. An inter school Kannada debate was organised by Frank Anthony Public School, Nithyashree - X A secured the Ist place. 2. Baldwin Girls High School conducted PANORAMA an Inter school cultural fest, Aakash Indu, Arjun Anand, Maya Shenoy - X B, Deepika R V - X C, Arjun Siddarth and Arvind R K - IX D won the I prize for the 'Melodious band'. Kevin Martin and Mithil Vakde of VII B won IIIrd prize in quiz. Akhil S, Mahati Vempati - X C and Nikhil M of X B won III rd prize in 'Catch the word'. 3. Sindhi High School conducted "Prateksha - Anchal - VI C, Mansi Manoj, Ritika Ballal, Shivani - VII B, Navyashree - VII E, Akshata - VII A won Ist prize for group dance. 4. Horlicks Fest was organised by Horlicks group at Gnana Jyothi Auditorium, Supriya & Sathvika of VII B won the Ist prize in Mehendi. 5. Presidency school conducted the Presidency challenge at NIMHANS Convention centre. Sujal K S of V C won the Ist prize in Spell Bee. 6. Miranda school had organised 'Deeksha I Cube' contest - Nikhil M, Akshay S and Bharath E of X B won the Ist prize for Model making. 7. Nazariya painting competition was conducted at Chitrakala Parishad - Nidhi S - VI B won the Ist prize and Sucharitha of VI C won the consolation prize. 8. Amar Jyothi Public School organised the 'Tiranga' competition - Mithil Vakde - VII B, Shashank - VIII B and Aditya - VI C won the Ist prize for the quiz. Aakash Indu and Aditya Kakde - X B won the Ist prize for ad making. Kripal Gowda of V B won the Ist prize for Story telling. Ruchirasry C of V B won the Ist prize for painting. 9. Oakridge International School & Embassy Group conducted Spell Bee competition, Swasthi P Rao - VII A was adjudged the Ist & IInd runner up position. 3
10. Infosys had organised 'Catch them young' contest. Joe Rishan of VIII B was selected for a 15 day training programme at their campus. 11. VIBGYOR High condcuted 'VIVA' colours of talent. Nischith P of VII D was the winner of VIVA - 5 Grand finale - Swing and Swirl. 12. ISKCON organised Sri Krishna Contest, Swasthi P Rao - VII A won the Ist prize. Harshitha N & Sanjana Vasanth - VII A won silver and bronze medal respectively for Goloka shades. 13. Our students participated in the 'Mock United Nations' conference at Sishu Griha, Alankrita Shome - IX C was awarded as the best representative for Libya. 14. Pre primary students participated in the Little Expressions competition organised by HAL Public School, our students won the 2 nd place in Collage & 3 rd
place in Clay Modelling. 15. Warriors - an Inter school chess competition was held, our students won various titles in sub junior & junior category. 16. 4th International English, 7th International Mathematics, 13th National cyber & 16th National Science Olympiad was held for Std III & IV students.
INTER HOUSE AND OTHER ACTIVITIES: 1. Inter House Competitions were held in different categories like colouring, card making, Rakhi making, collage, palm painting, T shirt painting, salad making, group dance, Mad ads, group band, recitation (poem), English & Hindi Drama. 2. Investiture ceremony of the student council 2013 2014 was held on 14th June 2013. 3. The Annual Alumni Meet was held on 1 st November 2013. 4. Independence Day was celebrated in the school quadrangle & Republic Day was celebrated at New Horizon College of Engineering, Marathahalli. 5. Diwali puja was held at New Horizon College of Engineering on 3rd November 2013, where children from Child Fund Association were also treated to new clothes, fire works and a feast. Dinner was organized by the Management for classes VI to X on 31st October 2013. 6. Std X Graduation day was held on 8 th February 2014.
NIE: 1. On 30th Aug'2013 to 8th Sep'2013, students from Std VIII - X accompanied by their science teachers visited Edinburgh International Science festival conducted at Bharatiya city - Hebbal. 2. Tangrams workshop about creative thinking & understanding geometry was conducted for Std IV children on 22/8/13. 3. An aptitude test was conducted for students of Std IX & X on 20/11/13 organised by Times of India.

CHILDRENS DAY CELEBRATION: 1. Nursery to UKG A magic show and snacks were organised on 15 th Nov 13. 2. Std I to Std V Trip to Fun World on 7 th , 8 th & 15 th Nov2013. 3. Std VI to Std X Trip to Wonder La on 21 st & 22 nd Nov2013.
ANNUAL DAY CELEBRATION/FEST: 1. Horizon 2013 an Inter School fest was held on 7th & 8th August'2013. 20 different competitions were held and all schools were invited. 2. Lights, Camera, Action! was held on 23 rd November 13 for Junior Division. 3. Magic of Fairy Tales was held on 7 th December13 for Std I to IV.
ANNUAL SPORTS DAY: 1. On 14 th December13, the Annual Sports day was held for students of Junior Division. 2. The Annual Athletic Meet was held on 26 th January'14 at the New Horizon College of Engineering, Sports grounds for Std I to X. Individual Championship trophies were presented & Apollo House won the overall championship.
We draw your attention to the following important details that need to be followed: UNIFORM: Contact Venkateshwara Garments for all uniform requirements: Address: # 139, Bazaar Street, Ulsoor, Bangalore 08. Tel No. 25309654. The payment for the uniform should be done directly to Venkateshwara Garments. Rates are attached. Note: The tailor will be available for measurements at the school campus from 2 nd to 10 th April2014 (on all days) from 10.00 am to 2.00 pm.
MOBILES / SCHOOL BAG: All students are banned from bringing mobiles or any other electronic gadgets to school. We request all the parents to kindly co operate with the school in this regard. Mobiles will be confiscated and returned only at the end of the academic year. It has been noticed that children bring oversized bags or heavily loaded bags to school. Please see that the appropriate sized bags are used by children, and that they bring only the required books and other items necessary for school.

FEES: 1. The school fee includes books and stationery. School & bus fee should be paid to A/c No: 484669934 in Indian Bank. All payments should be made with a single challan only. The payments MUST be done only in the Indian Bank NHEI Extension Counter, Indiranagar, Bangalore and not in any other branch. We have an online payment facility. To access the payment you may go to our school website: www.newhorizonindia.edu, click on online payment to A/c No: 982895389 and fill in the details as required. Please pay the fees at least 3 days before the due date to avoid net connectivity failure. Late payment of fees involves a fine of `25/- per day till the date of payment.
NOTE: PLEASE NOTE THAT YOU ARE TO PAY THE SCHOOL FEES IN TWO INSTALMENTS. FEE CARD WILL NOT BE ISSUED.
2. A photocopy of the fee challan should be produced along with the original at the time of collection of books & stationery. 3. SCHOOL BUS FACILITY: Students who wish to avail the school bus facility must collect the application form paying ` 30/- at the transport department from 22/3/2014 onwards. The last date for paying the bus fee and submitting the application form is 15/4/2014. Further details regarding transport can be collected from Transport Department in the school from 10.00 am to 2.00 pm [Monday- Friday]. A fine of ` 5/- per day will be charged for the late submission of the filled in application w.e.f 16/4/2014 along with challan. 1. Please make sure that the children carry the bus pass while traveling in the school bus. Failure to do so results in a fine of ` 50/- to be paid at the bank. 2. A photocopy of the challan should be sent to the class teacher on the reopening day. Please make sure that the class teacher acknowledges this. 3. All correspondence regarding transportation like change in address, complaints, discontinuation of bus facility etc. must be addressed to the Principal only. The school will not take any responsibility if the procedure is not followed. Last date for cancellation of bus pass is 10/6/2014. Original bus pass should be surrendered along with the application.
