During the summer months we do Sunday School a little differently with our
children and their parents. In order to give our regular teachers a break, we have a
combined full-family class during that will most likely meet in the Loomis Center
gym from 9:30-10:30 am. Nathan and April have used some of the topics families
expressed interest in from a previous survey for the course material. As families,
we will dig into topics like "Godly Priorities", "Social Media", and "Worship &
Spiritual Disciplines". There are a few weeks where due to youth summer trips we
will need some volunteers to help moderate classes in our absences so if you are
interested in helping with this and have any availability on these Sundays (July 6th, July 13th, and Aug 3rd) please email
April or Nathan.

Cant go to Kenya? Wish you could?
Twice a year, Memorial sends missionaries to Kenya to assist local pastors,
evangelists, and doctors with a vision and outreach clinic in Maasailand
throughout southern Kenya. From May 30-June 9 we are sending two teams to
Kimana, Kenya and Emali, Kenya. There are many of you who want to be a part
of the trip, but cant make the journey to East Africa. Well, heres your chance.
There are three ways for you to get involved:
Pray. Contact Ken Chitwood and become a part of our OFFICIAL KENYA
PRAYER TEAM.
Buy a Bibleor a surgery. For just $18 you can purchase a Bible in kiSwahili
or kiMaasai, which will be passed out to new converts at our vision clinic. Or, you can double your gift and pay $36 to
help cover a cataracts surgery for someone desperately in need of sight. Just drop your check in the offering plate and
mark it "Kenya: Bibles" or "Kenya: Surgeries."
Help send the missionaries. Memorial sponsors our missionaries to help cut the costs of the long trip and in appreciation
of the hard work they do. That totals up to $1,600 per missionary, per trip. Help sponsor our missionaries by giving $5,
$10, $50, $100, or more today! Again, just drop your check in the offering plate and mark it Kenya Fund.

New Bible Class Beginning

This is open to all but especially those involved or interested in the Praise Band! Led by John
Davis, we will look at a different worship song every week and look into the message behind the
song and how it can be used in worship. Starts May 18
th
in the Sanctuary at 10:00 AM.

Here is what is next for GLC

First of all, thank you so much for all of you who helped with the
Crazy Sock Hop. It was a super fun afternoon. Today when some of the preschoolers came into class who had been there
they were still excitedly talking about the fun they had.

Sunday May 18
th
we will host a bake sale between services. The money earned will help offset the cost for the girls
attending the LWML Convention this summer and will also go towards future mission efforts. If everyone could bring
2-3 dozen individual items like cookies or muffins, that would be great.

JoeJoe Bears - The t-shirts are being printed now for the bears we made for JoeJoe Bear a while back. When they are
printed we will set a meeting date to dress the bears and prepare them for delivery.
