Close valve(s) in order to build up full air pressure and ensure proper oil circulation. Check battery for proper connections and condition. Check engine coolant level Before Starting Check the engine oil level. Maintain per marks on dipstick. Check the fuel level. Add only CLEAN DIESEL fuel for maximum service from the engine. Check the compressor lubricating fluid level. Maintain between bottom and midway of the sight tube.
Close the canopy to maintain a cooling air path and avoid recirculation of hot air. This will maximize the life of the engine and compressor and protect the hearing of surrounding personnel. Be sure no one is IN or ON the compressor unit. Before Starting Starting Turn the POWER switch to ON. Turn Power switch to START position to crank engine. Hold switch in START position for approximately 5 seconds after engine starts. Starting Release Power Switch (it will automatically move to the ON position) when the engine starts and sustains running. Allow engine to warm 5 to 10 minutes Press the service air button Open air service valve(s). Cold Weather Starting Turn power switch to the glow plug position and hold 8 seconds. Turn to start. Stopping Close air service valves Allow the unit to run at idle for 3 to 5 minutes to reduce the engine temperatures. Turn Power Switch to OFF position. When the engine stops, the automatic blowdown valve should relieve system air pressure. If automatic blow-down valve malfunction is suspected, open manual blowdown valve to relieve pressure. Never allow unit to sit under pressure when engine is not running. SAFETY OPERATION MAINTENANCE
OPTIONAL EXTENDED WARRANTY Same program as announced in 1999 5 Year / 10,000 Hour Corrosion Warranty Available at a fee (AirSource/Plus only) Maintenance Kits (IR Fluids & Filters) AirSource & AirSource Plus-IR 500 Hr Dry 36096170 500 Hr Wet 36096188 1,000 Hr Dry 36096196 1,000 Hr Wet 36096204 Maintenance Kits (IR Fluids & Filters) AirSource Plus-JD 500 Hr Dry 36096212 500 Hr Wet 36096220 1,000 Hr Dry 36096238 1,000 Hr Wet 36096246 The proper oil level should be midway of the sight glass with the unit NOT running. Daily Checks Check the engine oil level. Maintain per marks on dipstick. Check engine coolant level. Observe gauges and lamps for proper function. Optional feature Check the fuel level as displayed on the tank. Drain water from the Fuel Water separator. Check for any oil leaks. Check engine for fuel leaks. Drain water from fuel filter. Check for coolant leaks. Do not remove pressure cap from a HOT radiator. Allow radiator to cool before removing pressure cap. Check all lights (running, brake and turn signals) before towing. Before towing, check that pintle eye bolts are tight. Weekly Squeeze the rubber valve (pre-cleaner dirt dump)on each air cleaner housing to ensure they are not clogged. Check the fan and alternator Belts, if loose or damaged correct or replace belt. Check battery for proper connections and electrolyte levels. Check tire tread condition and air pressure. Ensure tires are inflated to proper pressure.(50 psi) Check wheel lug nuts for proper torque, per chart below. Monthly Check that all intake lines to and from the air cleaners, the engine cooling system hoses and all air, oil, and fuel flexible hoses are inspected.
Test the system by removing a wire from one of the 4 shutdown switches. The unit should shutdown. Inspect air cleaner housing for any condition that might cause a leak and correct as necessary.
Each month check the compressor oil cooler exterior.
Check engine radiator.
Every 3 months or 250 hours, clean the oil cooler by directing compressed air which contains a nonflammable, non-caustic safety solvent through the core of the oil cooler.
3 MOS. 250 Hours Check engine radiator, clean same as oil cooler.
Check bolts, nuts and screws for tightness and assure all guards are in place.
Drain and clean fuel tank. 6 MOS. 500 Hours Replace air cleaner elements 500 hrs. Replace Fuel/Water elements 500 hrs. Replace compressor oil filter elements 500 hrs. Replace compressor oil at 500 hrs. Change Engine oil at 500 hours when using IR Fluids, (250 hours with non-IR Fluids) Replace engine oil filter at 500 hrs.
Check wheel bearings and seals at 500 hrs.
Test engine coolant. When the anti-freeze is mixed with water, the anti-freeze mixing ratio must be less than 50%. Replace fuel filter element at 500 hrs. Replace engine coolant every 12 mos. or 1000 hrs. 12 MOS. 1000 Hours
Once a year or every 1000 hrs of operation, whichever comes first, clean the scavenge orifice/check valve.
Once a year or every 1000 hrs of operation, whichever comes first, replace the separator element.
