INTRODUCTION
Global warming (rising temperatures in the atmosphere and oceans in recent
years) is a really worrying issue because our survival is seriously threatened
and every country in the world, every region, and every citizen today suffers of
the consequences of the "greenhouse effect".
This greenhouse effect (or global warming) is produced by industrial human
activities into the atmosphere shed more carbon dioxide (CO2) from which our
planet is willing to support and process, 80% of the greenhouse gases that
cause climate change are related to energy production and consumption.

GLOBAL WARMING
Glaciers are melting, sea levels rise up, forests are drying, and
wildlife struggle to keep pace. It is increasingly clear that
humans have caused most of the warming of the last century, by
emitting heat-trapping gases, to enhance our modern life. Called
greenhouse gases and their levels are getting higher, now and in
the past 65,000 years.
We call the result of global warming, but it is causing a series of changes in the
Earth's climate.
CAUSES
The presence of CO2 in the atmosphere and other gases responsible for the
greenhouse effect that reaches the Earth are held in the atmosphere. As a result
of this heat, the average temperature on the Earth's surface reaches about 60
F, which is conducive to the development of life on the planet. However, as a
result of burning fossil fuels and other human activities associated with the
process of industrialization, the concentration of these gases in the atmosphere
has increased considerably in recent years. This has caused the atmosphere to
retain more heat than it should, and is the cause of what we know today as
warming or global climate change.

CONSEQUENCES
Global warming will cause a lot of damage and faster than expected,
temperatures will rise between 1.5 and 2.5 degrees, sea level will rise too and
30% of all species will disappear.
In Ecuador, for example, the consequences are devastating as the snow that
provides water to Quito is the snow-covered Antisana which according to
recent studies is melting exponentially. Since that step its estimated that by
2020 it will suffer serious problems. Quito supplies water to its inhabitants.
The effect of the melting poles results in that the sea water increase their levels
and produces that coastal cities are affected by rising sea levels that flood these
sites, besides the winter and summer periods (such as Guayaquil and Manab
populations) are unpredictable, ie to be very prolonged drought and then
periods of rain too intense capable of flooding the crops and the people, making
it very difficult or impossible to the economic survival of many of them.
CONCLUSION
Global warming is a problem that permanently affects us in different ways,
causing human and material losses, unless we take immediate action to stop it
in about 100 years there will be major consequences for humanity and all living
things.
It requires urgent attention of all the inhabitants of the world to run plans and
environmental actions to prevent this problem continues.
RECOMMENDATIONS
Can we do something to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and the
consequences of global warming?
Everyone can do something to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and global
warming consequences. Among other things, we should:
Reduce electricity consumption

Use fluorescent bulbs
Limit water consumption

Make greater use of solar energy

Plant trees around the house to reduce the use of air conditioners

Recycling aluminum cans, plastic and glass, as well as
cardboard and paper

Purchase products without packaging or recycled or recyclable
packaging

Using recycled paper

Walk or use public transport

Make efficient use of the automobile

Create awareness in others about the importance of taking actions to
reduce the impact of global warming
