Should the Government Spend More Money on Space Exploration?

Pros
Find alien life
Have more resources to supply us
Expands knowledge
Technology evolvement (communication, transportation)
Inspires people to learn in the fields of science/astronomy
If disaster happens on Earth we can re-colonize another planet and leave Earth

Cons
Aliens may attack us
Lots of expenses (fuel cost, time, etc)
Virus transfers
Not sure whats out there
Would take a long time
Will our old technology be surpassed by our new technology, so that our new technology
passes our old technology even though we sent our old technology out first

Subject: Spending money on space research
How much do we spend? How much should we spend? How much do I want the government to
spend?

Should We Spend More Money
On Space Research?

Equipped with his 5 senses, man explores the universe around him and calls the
adventure Science. ~Edwin Powell Hubble, 1953. When Edwin Powell Hubble stated this
he meant for the people to venture off to a new realm. Spending MORE money on space
research may cost us a little here and there But what would happen if we were to run out
of resources to fuel us? Well thats where spending more money on space research kicks
in. Turning on the engine from slow to ZABOOM (which money can do)! Will increase the
rate of finding new celestial objects, life, and many more. Whats most remarkable is us
finding the secrets to the path of the heavens.

To follow, space agencies like NASA need more fuel to keep it running. According to
Neil deGrasse Tyson, A half a penny... The most powerful agency of the dreams of a
nation is currently underfunded to do what it needs to be doing. And thats making dreams
come true. How much would you pay for the universe?. I certainly believe that a most
powerful agency (NASA) is truly fulfilling many, many dreams. But as time passes you can
slowly seeing the funder (U.S. government) is slowly snowballing into debt and that slowly
digs out of NASAs budget A NASA authorization bill drafted by the Republican majority
of the House Committee on Science, Space and Technology proposes to slash NASA's
funding to $16.6 billion for 2014 $300 million less than it received in 2013, and $1.1
billion less than President Obama requested for NASA in 2014. People just want money,
money, money, money. As you can see in the statement above $16,600,000,000 may
seem a lot to an average person. But, does an average person have to look into deep
cosmos? To conclude NASA is slowly getting picked on by budgets.

Next, were running out of resources! According to Where Will We Be in 2050? by
Kevin D. Denee, And by 2050, the United Nations estimates that the number of human
beings on Earth will be over 9.1 billion. To continue look at the amount of people! Yeah,
sure we have tons of space but imagine possibly 100 billion people in a couple of
decades How would it feel like to see your best friend Right next to you! Every second,
every day, forever. Moving onto fuel problems! People just want to have a fantastic life
with fairies, unicorns, and everything. Maybe thats possible with advancement in
technology. But technology aint gonna run itself. Its like a car with no gasoline! Quite,
absurd. All in all while people grow, resources deplete.

It is disturbing to think of the cuts forcing our other budgets into debt. According to
U.S. National Debt Clock, The outstanding public debt as of 17 December 2013 at
10:07:09 PM GMT is: $17,261,741,069,418.59. This shows that were in debt. If we werent
to pay off our debt we could be at war. But, as you can imagine Finding an extraterrestrial
life form, could potentially decrease our budget by a landslide. How? Well imagine seeing
the paper going on and on about America Finds New Life on Planet Xergon!. We will be
praised with fortune for this achievement! People will hollar that we the people of America
are like gods having the ability to look into interstellar space. To end, yes this is a risky
move, but as it is what choice do we have?

Finding the new us, the new things in life is truly intriguing. Once again weve come
to the point of finding alien life and more resources. Finding new life is like being born into a
new world. A new chance. And how could you take that chance without your deeply called
for fuel. So go out there, make posters, signs, whatever! And tell the world, I have the
responsibility of over four million people, and I am in a position to do good, to be able to
bring about a new life for my people, and I will continue to move in that direction. It's a
burden, but it needs to be done. -King Abdullah II.
