Our Mission: Loving God . . . Loving People . . . Reaching Out!

Please remember in prayer:
Pr. Mike Sorsen Richard Berglund Kent Quigley
Marilyn Alexander Allan Miller Leonard Doffin
Jo Schmit Shirley Mastny Zach Wiebelhaus
The family of Don Dederman as they mourn

If you know someone who is in need of prayer but whose name is not listed, it may be that
they have asked not to be included in the printed bulletin. Please remember them in your
personal prayers.

Pray for our 2014 Graduates as we celebrate with them Sunday at the 8:30 am
Worship Service.

Flowers on the altar this weekend are sponsored by Scott & Brenda Carhart in
celebration of Graces 5
th
birthday; and by Janet Erickson in memory of loved ones.

REMINDER: The 11 AM worship service will move to 10:15 AM next Sunday,
May 24, for the summer. The late service returns to 11 am on Labor Day weekend.

If you are hospitalized, PLEASE CALL THE CHURCH to let us know and PLEASE ASK
to be added to the Lutheran List. This will help our hospital visitors, pastors and
Jacquie Samway (Coordinator of Congregational Care) find you when hospitalized.

FIRST COMMUNION CLASS If your 5
th
grader or younger student is expressing an
interest to take first communion, please mark your calendar to attend one of the
three classes being offered: May 19, 20 or 21 @ 5:15 pm. First communion will be
celebrated during worship the weekend of June 7-8.

The regular quilting date for Thursday, May 22, is cancelled; however, Fifth
Thursday Quilt Day is May 29, so bring a potluck lunch and join us from 9am to 3pm
in the lower level of St. Johns. Bring your scissors and tools that help you quilt!

LUTHERAN WORLD RELIEF
Teach a person to sew and youve given
them tools they can use to earn an income,
support their family, and break out of
poverty. Many of the thousands of Fabric
Kits Lutheran World Relief distributes are
used in vocational training programs to
teach young men and women useful and
marketable sewing skills. Include the
following items in each Fabric Kit:
Two pieces of cotton or cotton-blend
fabric (no knits or 100% polyester).
Each piece should measure 2 yds of
60 fabric OR 3 yds of 44 fabric OR 4
yds of 36 fabric.
Two spools of neutral-colored, general
purpose thread, 250-300 yards each
Fabric should have no stains or holes.
Pieces do not need to match in size or
color/pattern. Fold thread and one piece
of fabric inside second fabric piece and tie
with yarn, sturdy string, ribbon or a strip of
fabric. Please do not donate items with
any religious symbols, messages or your
congregations name. Please do not
donate any items decorated with a U.S.
flag, patriotic or military symbols, or
references to the armed forces, including
camouflage.
Do not enclose the kit or any of its contents in
plastic bags. Look for the aluminum washtub
in the west hall for collection of the kits. WE
CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

Thank you to St. Johns Lutheran Church for
the flowers delivered to us in the hospital
after the birth of our son, Bryce Del, and for
the visits before and after Bryces birth. Very
comforting!
Thanks again,
Del, Kristi & Bryce Johnson

Dear St. Johns Benefaction Board:
Words can never express my sincere
gratitude for the generous funding received
from St. Johns Benefaction Board. This is a
huge blessing for the S.M.I.L.E. program to
continue Gods ministry in helping families
with special needs children and adults.

God continues to find helping hands to
meet the growing interest and need of
Recreational Horse Therapy. Please drop in
this summer and see firsthand the smiles on
the riders, parents and caregivers faces.
Thank you again for being on the S.M.I.L.E.
team and providing a much needed service for
our community and surrounding communities.

Gods Blessings in your work to help others.
Very Grateful,
Patty Prauner, Program Director

To St. Johns Benefaction Board
Thank you so much for your generous
donations to Mercy Meals. Your $2,000
provided meals to almost 17,000 children who
are suffering from malnutrition.
Again many thanks for your help in
combating hunger worldwide.
