This checklist template is based upon the Project Management Body of


Knowledge i.e. plan the work then work the plan
Project Execution Plan Checklist
1. Purpose: tate the purpose of the project which is to be realised
!. Mandate: "onfirm the appro#al gi#en to initiate the project e.g. date of the
appro#al of the recommendation$budget allocation to be implemented based
on the organisations %nfrastructure Plan and %nfrastructure Programme
%mplementation Plan
&. Project Scope: insert the scope of the project from the feasibility assessment
'. Objectives: %nsert the objecti#e$s of the project to be implemented including
any social economic objecti#es (e.g. community employment) skills
de#elopment etc.*
+. !esults: tate the results to be achie#ed by the project i.e. results to achie#e
the objecti#e$s
,. "nstitutional #rran$e%entsProject Tea%: tate what the institutional
arrangements are for the project - who the project team will be) who the
project manager will be and define roles and responsibilities of
stakeholders$people in#ol#ed in the project team) including any e.ternal
resource re/uired to achie#e the results. (0ote in terms of good project
management single point accountability for each work component is essential
i.e. who is the specific person$functionary responsible for each element.

5. Project C&cle: tate the project cycle from start to completion comprising the
major work components and deli#erables$results to be achie#ed within each
work component.
6. 'inancial "%plications: tate the project budget (including the major cost
items e.g. cost of engaging ser#ice pro#iders) contractors and ancillary costs
such as production of manuals) communication workshops etc*. Pro#ide cost
schedule in standard template format.
17. Ti%etable: Pro#ide a summary timetable of the actions to be undertaken
$duration$start date$completion date$responsibility. %f appropriate back up the
summary timetable with a detailed Microsoft Projects gant chart.
11. Monitorin$ and !eportin$: tate the Key Performance %ndicators which will
be used to monitor progress and effecti#eness. tate the reporting to be
pro#ided including a report template) fre/uency of reporting) and responsibility
for reporting.

how the risks will be mitigated (i.e. actions to reduce and manage the risks*)
