We focus specically on the breast cancer disease and early detection, and the overall promotion of healthy breast care. Our eforts are targeted in the African American, Latino, Hispanic, African, and Caribbean communities across the globe. The NWBCF organization is governed by an elected Board of Directors, which is comprised of survivors and supporters of breast cancer. We are supported by a medical advisory team of doctors and nurses who practice in the areas of breast surgery, oncology, radiology and healthy living with practices at Howard University Hospital, United Medical Center, and George Washington University Hospital. NWBCF was founded following Ms. Williams journey with breast cancer at the age of 41. After being diagnosed in July of 2012, she underwent a double mastectomy, chemotherapy, and radiation in an efort to combat the disease. Today, she attributes her remission to an increased awareness of the risk factors of breast cancer and her continued focus on a healthy mind, body, and spirit. In October 2013, The Council of the District of Columbia named October 2nd The Natalie Williams Breast Care Awareness Day for Women of Color. 2 0 1 4 B u s t i e r B r u n c h H i g h l i g h t s An Afternoon with the Girls Bustier Brunch Saturday, October 4, 2014 11am-2pm P.O.
