Christmas Preview
K ick off the holiday season at Downtown Chico’s much-anticipated
Christmas Preview! This tradition in holiday hospitality celebrates
the magic of the season— Downtown merchants debut their holiday
cheer by inviting the community to delight in an evening filled with
the sights, sounds and smells of the season.
Special “on-street” attractions include:
• Santa Visits! Arriving in a horse-drawn carriage, Santa will visit chil-
dren at his station at Third & Broadway from 4:30-7:30pm.Youngsters
can stop by for a visit, a special gift and a photo opportunity!
• Live entertainment in the streets:
~ The “hardest working band in snow business”,The Yule Logs!
~ Sound of the Foothills men’s chorus
~ Sounds of the Valley women’s chorus
~ Children’s Choir of Chico
• Karaoke the Christmas Classics with Mix 95.1
• The Blaze Hit Country 103.5 & Chico Fire Dept. kick off “Coats for Kids”

Community Tree Lighting
T he spectacular City Plaza will glow with the joy of Christmas on
Friday, Dec. 4th – the festivities begin at 5:30 pm. Produced by the
Downtown Chico Business Association (DCBA) and funded in part by
the City of Chico, the Tree Lighting is a gift to the community. Crowds
will enjoy a musical program and participate in the countdown to
light the tree. Standing at more than 55’ tall, the Blue Atlas Cedar is
decorated by the City of Chico Tree Crew each year with more than
4,000 colorful LED lights.
