this is the current RZKH nesletter for march / a!ril "0#" $ sent directl% from
our fall out shelter& We are 'lad to see that the num(er of customers and users of
the !u(lic AS/400 and our other ser)ers is increasin' steadil%& *his sho that
%ou are a !oerful communit% hich +ee!s this ser)ers on to!& We at RZKH ho!e
to 'i)e an im!ortant contri(ution to this communit%&
Within the ne,t months e ill ma+e some chan'es in the data centre, our
offerin's and ser)ices& *his alread% starts ith the format of this nesletter& -t
ill (e distri(uted as a .D/ document to (e read directl% from the e(site& *he
old te,t formatted attachments also ere not eas% reada(le and some s!am filters
deleted them&

AS/400 model 450 in front of the shelter entrance& 2ehind

At this location e can offer (est !ossi(le !rotection of
en)ironmental disaster, fire, storms etc& /or our customers in
'erman% e offer stora'e of reall% im!ortant documents and
electronic data !rocessin' media&
New offerings

can rent them in com!lete or !artiall% and send %our encr%!ted data to a )er%
secure location& .lease note $ this is not an alternati)e to the usual donload

Number of users
*he num(er of AS/400 ser)ers e host is increasin' constantl%& 3ost of the
ser)ers are some %ears old, from customers hich !ut them to our data centre, or
sold them to us& *he most num(er of users here are de)elo!ers and learners& We
counted o)er all ser)ers and found a(out "C&000 users on !u(lic, shared and
dedicated ser)ers&&&
Requests for services and current servers
We continue to (u% more ser)ers to ser)e the re1uests of our customers for
machines ith DE or DC o!eratin' s%stem& Fn the other hand e ha)e a lot of
users ho ant to or+ ith older s%stem releases li+e D6R" or D6R5& *his
shos that R.8 and 'reen screan is not dead& A lot of !eo!le around the orld
are still startin' to learn R.8& *his is )er% interestin'G and e ho!e to ha)e some
interestin' offerin's for %ou&
*he num(er of users ho ansered the last 1uestionnaires is
rather lo, so e need to estimate hich can (e the (est offer
for %ou& A lot of de)elo!ers ould ant to or+ on the neest
release DCR# for free& .lease do not for'et, these ser)ers cost a
lot of mone% for hardare and softare, so a free offerin' is not
!ossi(le at this moment& Also a lot of users as+ for the indos (ased
de)elo!ment clients& *he older )ersions li+e WDSC and RD- can (e donloaded
from our ser)ers, if %ou as+ us& 2ut the most current indos (ased de)eloment
en)ironment called 7RD.7 costs a(out >SD #000,:: for each user& So this is not
!ossi(le to 'i)e out for free& We +ee! on tal+in' to -23 a(out this&&&
Account changes
A not to all users of free and !a%a(le AS/400 accounts9 We had some !ro(lems
after the mo)e ith the automated re1uests for account chan'es& So if %ou send a
re1uest (% e3ail or on the e(site and did not see an% reaction, !lease contact us
