Objective (SWBAT): label genocides around the world; describe the genocide in Darfur; explain bystanders role in genocide
Assessment / Exit Ticket: Document analysis: International Criminal Court (correlates with reader portion of assessment)
Vocabulary/Key Concepts/Word Wall: genocide, bystander, perpetrator
Materials / Technology: hand outs (genocide map labeling, the charge: genocide article and questions) elmo, projector
Modifications / Accommodations: I will give instructions step by step and check for understanding.


Do Now (3-5 minutes)
Silent, short, pen to paper, complete w/out teacher direction, preview or review

Students will label on the map where the Armenian, Guatemalan, Rwandan and Darfur genocides took place.
(relates to questions 11-13 on the assessment)





Opening (3-5 minutes)
The Hook, Preview Objective, Connection to Prior Knowledge.
Students will state the lessons objective. We will review the Genocide: Darfur, Rwanda and Guatemala, and make a claim Armenian genocide
handout completed by students.
