Sections by having them appoint Section
SIGHT coordinators.
SIGHT Special Interest Groups on
Humanitarian Technology; Similar to GOLD
and WIE.

Goals: 2) Promote EPICS and
TISP
Promote participation in EPICS
(Engineering Projects In-to Community
Service) and TISP (Teacher In-Service
Program) programs
Why these programs? - their format
is standardized, readily contributable,
they come with a big support system
including Lesson Plans, and these
programs come with funding

1 Keynote session
1 Panel discussion
2 half-day sessions (3 hours each)

The program can be plugged into any
Regional Event.

Participants:
2 types of target-audience:
1) Volunteers at Sections and Student-
Branches
! These help in organizing SIGHT activities
2) Volunteers interested in
Humanitarian/Social Innovation activities
! These help in actually executing projects

Support for participants
SIGHT-Section-Coordinators, one from
each Section will be partially funded
to participate in this workshop.
In R10 Congress, 15 such participants
are being funded.
Support to purchase supplies for
volunteers interested in doing TISP
activities post-workshop.

What is the benefit for Region
(R9)?
There are a lot of IEEE members in R9
who are interested in Humanitarian
Activities.
This workshop will encourage and
engage such members.
Volunteers will be organized into groups
SIGHTs.
More opportunities for members = More
membership-benefit delivered!

What should R9 do to organize a
workshop?
1) Provide facilities for running the
program content (in slide 5) during a
major R9 Event (RRR in Colombia).
2) Invite all Sections to appoint and
delegate 1 Section SIGHT Coordinator
for the workshop. They will be partially
funded by HAHC.
