I have 13-year management experience in 7-Eleven Convenience Stores in Hong Kong &
China before immigrated to Canada with my family. I am in particular experienced in business
development, store operations, strategic planning & implementation, franchising & staff
management. The last position that I held in the company was General Manager of 7-Eleven China.
I have been employed as the Promotion Manager/Assistant Property Manager in Pacific
Mall and I have proven my ability in handling of multi-tasking, coping with the most complicated
owner to owner & owner to tenant relationship, tactical settlement of complaint & grievance from
customers & owners/tenants, managing the mall in & out as a whole, formation of profitable &
successful promotion programs, collaboration with external organizations for maximum benefit to
the mall. My working exposure in Canada also included running my own business for 6 years since
I landed Canada. The business areas covered were import & distribution of after market batteries for
cellular phone; development & marketing of an ice cream product; marketing & distribution of two
brands of health food products. The business operated both on East Coast in Toronto & West Coast
in Vancouver. These business opportunities allowed me for hand-on experience in Canadian
markets and establishment of a social network. Furthermore, I have been under the employment of
an authorized agent of Rogers Wireless in capacity of Sales Manager for corporate accounts. This
opportunity has further strengthened my experience in sales, market development, accounts & staff
management. For the past 5 years, I am responsible for a manufacturing operation in Toronto and
my job is to contact with customers/new customers on production requirements for existing and new
products, source the necessary raw material for production, ensure for day-to-day effective
operation of the factory and profitable management of the business.

WORK EXPERIENCE:
2004 - Present VP, U Kwong (Canada) Co. Ltd., a manufacturing operation in Toronto and
my job is to ensure for day-to-day effective operation of the factory and
profitable management of the business.
2003 - 2003 Promotion Manager/Assistant Property Manager in Pacific Mall, the largest
indoor Asian mall in Toronto. Responsible for the marketing, promotion, PR
aspects of the corporation, development of community services in the
regions, creating and improving promotional revenue. Also responsible for
owners/tenants relation, security, parking lots control, janitorial services,
IT/communications, landscaping and snowplowing in respect of the mall
management.
2002 – 2003 Sales Manager for corporate accounts in an authorized agent of Rogers
Wireless and is responsible for sales, market development, accounts and
staff management of the company.
1995 – 2001 Soles proprietor of a trading firm, importing and distributing after market
batteries for cellular phone in Toronto & Vancouver; developed and
launched in Vancouver in 1998 the ‘Mini Dots’, an innovative & unique ice
cream product; marketing & distributing of two US brands of health food
products in Toronto since 1999.
1982 – 1995 7-Eleven Convenience Stores in Hong Kong & China, the fastest expanding
franchised retailing chain with store number increased to over 500 since it
opened the first store in 1982. Rotating among various management
functions in the company ranging from Market & stores Development,
Stores Operations, Stores Franchising, Purchasing, Marketing,
Merchandising, Human Resources & General Administration. The last
position held in the company was General Manager for 7-Eleven China and
was in that position for 3 years before immigrated to Canada with the
family.
1981 – 1982 Marketing & Sales Supervisor – Consumer Products Division, Y.C. WOO &
CO. LTD., one of the leading general agency firms in Hong Kong,

marketing pharmaceuticals, veterinary/animal feed products, hospital &
medical supplies and consumer products. The post reported to the General
Manager and was responsible for sound and effective running of the
division.
1979 – 1981 Promotion Supervisor, Avon Cosmetics (Hong Kong) Ltd., a direct
subsidiary of Avon Products, Inc., marketing cosmetics and toiletries
through personal direct selling. The position reported to the National Sales
Manager and was responsible for selecting, recruiting, training, supervising,
motivating and developing of all staff within the Promotion Department.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

Sound knowledge in operating, maintenance, upgrade and networking of Windows PC and Apple
Macintosh and well verse in all business applications programs, including Windows Word, Excel,
PowerPoint & Assess.

MANAGEMENT TRAINING:

Dale Carnegie Course in Effective Speaking and Human Relations in Hong Kong

Achieving The Excellence, a 2-week course in Dallas, USA, for successful managers locally and
overseas in the 7-Eleven business. The course covered detail aspect in people management &
communication skills

General Management Program, a series of management courses through out two-year period and
finalizing by a three-month boarding courses in Ashridge Management College in England. The
program covered the whole cores for general management necessities. (This course was
substantiated in England as equivalent to MBA Program.)

There were many other management courses and seminars attended during the employment with
Jardines & Matheson / Dairy Farm / 7-Eleven.
