CLEANING THE COALESCER AND REMOVING SOLIDS AND MUD FROM
THE SEPARATOR.
VR is the same as the Mhd or the minimal lifting rise velocity of small oil droplets, which
was calculated before.
The above equation is used to calculate the diameter of small oil droplets, which will be
successfully separated by the e cient PAVAN MASTER-PACK coalescer.
The coalescer 4 and the separator tank 9 are occasionally cleaned by closing the
waste water intake valve 1. The coalescer 4 is lifted up and the plate and the
separator tank are then rinsed with a jet of hot water.
Solids and mud are discharged from separator tank 9 through the discharge
valves 11 into the external container. The collected oil and grease in reservoir 5
are discharged through the outlet oil and grease valve 19. The highly efficient
separator is prepared for reuse by opening the intake waste water valve 1 waste
water level is rising to the operating level. If an additional water level regulation is
necessary, this can be done using the adjustable device 7.
THIS CALCULATION IS THE MOST IMPORTANT FACTOR FOR PROVING THE OIL
SEPARATION EFFICIENCY OF THE SEPARATOR.

== 0,0040cm = 40 microns
Gx ( v o )981 x 0,18
D = 40 microns or substituted with the amount of oil left in the puri ed water is 8
milligrams per lliter
Waste water, puri ed in such a way, can be discharged into the sewage system or
directly into the natural environment.
It is a well known fact that the world standards for puri cation of waste water are
becoming stricter and that polluted water will have to be puri ed better than it is today.
The use of PAVAN MASTER-PACK separators is an investment into the future, since they
purify the waste water a lot better than required by current standards. All old and
ine cient separators in use today will have to be updates to increase their e ciency, or
replaced with new separators

Ultra filtration is used for further purification of waste water that was purified
in the highly efficient PAVAN MASTER-PACK separator, especially for the
purification of emulsion substances, such as PCB detergents, pesticides,
bacteria, heavy metals and many other contaminants.
A very successful process is the combination of waste water purification in
the highly efficient PAVAN MASTER-PACK separators as the first stage
and ultra filtration of this water as the second stage. Water purified in this
manner can be reused as recycled water in marinas, car washing facilities,
dry cleaners and so many other places.

THE CALCULATION OF THE OIL DROPLETS REMOVAL EFFICIENCY
FROM WaEST WATER IN THE PAVAN MASTER-PACK SEPARATOR
The efficiency of the oil droplets removal is calculated according to the STOCK
law for gravitational separation. It is expressed with the following equation:

OPERATION OF THE PROGRAMMED FILTRATION
DEVICE FOR MICROFILTRATION OF ALREADY PURIFIED WATER IN THE
PAVAN MASTER-PACK SEPARATOR
The purified water in the PAVAN MASTER-PACK separator flows into the ultra
filtration device through pipe 1 into the centrifugal pump 2 and from pump 2
through pipe 3 into the programmed valves 4 and into the ultra filters 5. From the
ultra filters 5 the purified water flows through the programmed valve 6 into the
outlet pipe 7 and outlet valve 8 into the collecting reservoir. The ultra filter 5 is
cleaned by the reverse flow of purified water through filter 5. This is achieved by
suitable programming of the opening and closing of the automatic valve 6 and two
valves 11, so that the clean water washes the membranes in the ultra filters 5. The
contaminated water flows out through the outlet silt valves 11 and outlet pipe 12
into the separator 15. The cleaning process of membranes in micro filters 5 is
carried out automatically.

GRAVITY SEPARATOR
AN EXAMPLE OF THE CALCULATION FOR A
WASTE WATER SEPARATOR FOR THE FLOW
CAPACITY OF 4 LITRES PER SECOND
If we wish to remove heavy metals and certain toxic chemical substances from the
waste water, we have to close the purified water outlet valve 8 and open the
outlet filter valve 10 allowing the purified water in ultra filters 5 to flow into the
multimedia filter 9 and through the outlet valve 10 into the collecting reservoir.

CALCULATION AND PROOFS EFFICIENCY OF PAVAN MASTER-PACK
SEPARATORS
ADVANTAGES OF HIGH EFFICIENT PAVAN MASTER-PACK SEPARATORS
1. The biggest advantage of PAVAN MASTER-PACK SEPARATORS is that they
purify waste water according to the required European standards (or even
better), which can be discharged into the sewage system or into the natural
environment.
2. Simple cleaning and maintenance of the highly efficient separator, easy
maintenance and low cos.
3. The quality of the PAVAN MASTER-PACK SEPARATORS is emphasized by
the fact that they are manufactured from stainless steel, which guarantees long
use, excellent hygiene, cleanliness of the working environment and years-long
warranty.
4. A very successful combination for complete purification of waste water with oil,
grease and solids, emulsified substances (such us detergents, pcb,
pesticides), heavy metals and many other contaminants is achieved by
combining gravitational separation of oil, grease and solids in PAVAN HIGHLY
EFFICIENT MASTER-PACK separators and ULTRA FILTRATION as second
stage for removal of emulsified substances and other contaminants
FIVE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT QUESTIONS, WHICH EVERY SELLER
AND MANUFACTURER OF SEPARATORS SHOULD ANSWER.
1. Whether the separation of oil, grease and solids is implemented in the
separator, without the coalescer or in a separator with highly efficient
coalescer.
2. What is the velocity of the waste water flow in the separator and whether it has
perforated baffles, which reduce the velocity of the flow.
Old separators3 m/min.
PAVAN MASTER-PACK0.3 m/min.
3. The mathematical calculation according to the STOCK law for the calculation
of oil removal efficiency of the separator, with the minimum size of oil droplets.
Old separators150 microns.
PAVAN MASTER-PACK40 microns.
4. What is the REYNOLDS number, which determines whether the flow of waste
water is turbulent or linear.
Old separatorRE = 800 turbulent and over.
PAVAN MASTER-PACKRE = 129 linear.
5. What is the ratio between the maximum waste water flow in the separator and
flat plate area, expressed in liters of the water on a square meter of the plate
surface area.
Old separators50 l/m2
PAVAN MASTER-PACK10 l/m2.
