Projects Undertaken (*) continuing these projects

• Project of analyzing SRTM data for faults and preparing Rooster Maps for
Western India (N20E69-N25E75) under Dr.J.N.Malik (Institute project).The
aim of the project was o determine the possibilities of forthcoming Earthquake in
the region. In this project I used 2 softwares, namely Envi 4.0 and Ilwis. The
data was first interpreted by Envi then faults were marked using Ilwis.The Geo
Reference and Coordinates were set initially.The final roster maps were prepared
in Envi. *
• Project to develop a model profile (height and velocity) of Open Channel Flow
under Dr. Pranab Mohapatra . In this project I used the equations of continuity
and momentum and Mannings equation to form a model in Java. Various kinds
of input were taken by this program and it gave velocity and height profile at
desired ‘t’ or ‘x’.*
• Presented a term paper on “The Effect of Aircrafts on Atmosphere” under
guidance of Prof. Sachidanand Triapthi. In this paper various effects of Aircrafts
in present scenario were discussed along with future measures required to
control these effects.
• Presented term paper on “The Glare Effect while driving “under guidance of
Dr. Animesh Das. In this paper, the necessity to study the glare effect, its various
aspects, solutions to reduce this effect without varying the traffic movement
much were discussed.
• Automation of Student Affair body of IIT K (programming in JAVA) under Dr.
A Mukerjee (2003-04). This program maintained records of all the students of
the institute.
• A model of Crane capable of working in all possible directions. The model was
made out of mild steel. Done under Dr.Rajiv Shekhar.(2003-04)
• Participating in All India Concrete Cube testing organized by Indian chapter of
ACI and ACC cement *
• Project of welding and braising a model of roller coaster under Dr.Rajiv Shekhar
(2003-04) .Project was declared best among all.
• Created brick game using JAVA
• Experiment to determine DO, BOD in the sample for various time intervals.
• Won the prize of “strongest bridge” in the straw-bridge competition (Techkriti).
