Trip Itinerary

Day 1 - Paris
Our Topdeck trip begins early this morning in London. We depart and drive to Dover, where we cross the English
Channel to France by ferry. Upon arrival in Calais we drive to Paris, capital of France and the worlds most popular
city break destination. After checking in to our accommodation we have an included dinner at a local French
restaurant. Later we head into the city for a spectacular City Lights driving tour with our Topdeck Crew. Well get
to marvel at the renowned beauty of Paris as we pass many famous sights along the River Seine, including the Eiffel
Tower, Champs-lyses, Arc de Triomphe, Place de la Concorde and much more!

Day 2 - Paris
Our free day in Paris gives us the chance to explore the city at our own pace. Among the city's most famous
attractions are the Louvre, Notre Dame Cathedral, Pompidou Centre, Napoleon's Tomb and the impressive Muse

d'Orsay. For a different perspective of Paris, an optional 'Fat Tire' bicycle tour could see us cycling the streets of the
French capital. This evening we enjoy our 'Totally Topdeck' Paris Gourmet Picnic near the Eiffel Tower - delicious
food in a memorable setting! Afterwards, we can complete our Parisian experience with a choice of two great
optional activities - a Seine River Cruise or a show at one of the oldest cabarets in Paris, the famous Paradis Latin.

Day 3 - Swiss Alps
A long but scenic drive today as we make our way to the stunning country of Switzerland and the gorgeous Swiss
Alps. We pass incredible landscapes and fairy-tale villages as we draw closer to our accommodation. Our base in
the village of Lauterbrunnen is set in a deep valley, flanked by towering cliffs from which waterfalls tumble, framed
by the snowy peaks of Europes great mountain range, the Alps were confident youll fall in love with it! Tonight
we enjoy a fantastic home-cooked Swiss meal thanks to our resident Topdeck On Site Chefs

Day 4 - Swiss Alps
This morning there is an option to ride the historic Jungfraubahn railway to the highest station in Europe, which sits
atop the Jungfrau Mountain. At over 12000ft high it deserves its nickname, the 'Roof of Europe'. What's more
there's guaranteed snow! For those who think that being 12000ft high whilst having your feet on the ground is too
boring - why not throw yourself out of a helicopter instead?! An optional (weather permitting) tandem skydive over
the Swiss Alps is truly memorable. The rest of the day is free to explore the numerous mountain walks, or perhaps
visit the Trummelbach Falls. Later we enjoy another delicious included dinner.

Day 5 - AvignonThe scenery is impressive during our drive to the South of France today. The ancient walled city of
Avignon is full of fascinating buildings such as the foreboding Palais des Papes (Palace of the Popes) and the gold-
topped Avignon Cathedral, which well see on a short walking tour with our Topdeck Trip Leader. This evening we
can find a local bistro in town for dinner, or alternatively picnic along the banks of the River Rhne near the famous
Pont dAvignon (Avignon Bridge). Baguette, cheese and red wine with a picturesque medieval skyline to gaze upon
cest magnifique!

Day 6 - Barcelona
First up today we visit the grand Pont du Gard, a remarkably well preserved Roman aqueduct which dates back
nearly 2000 years. Then Viva Espaa! We drive south to Spain and visit one of Europes best cities, Barcelona. We
enjoy a driving tour of Barcelona with our Topdeck Crew seeing highlights such as Gaudis La Sagrada Familia,
Montjuic (home of the Barcelona 1992 Olympics) and the Christopher Columbus Monument. This evening we have
an included dinner at a local restaurant, after which we can watch an optional Flamenco show where flamboyant
dancers will perform to the beautiful strains of Spanish guitar.

Day 7 - Barcelona
Our Topdeck trip finishes this morning after breakfast, when it will be time to say fond farewells to our Topdeck
Crew and travelling companions.


Accommodation

Your trip will stay in various types of accommodation, which could include anything from hostels or bungalows to
hotels or a 12th century castle!
The 'Also Included' section of this document details what type of accommodation will be used for our overnight
stops.On your trip the number of people to a room varies depending on the type of accommodation. When staying
in hotels many of the rooms are twin- and triple-share; bungalows can be up to four people per room; while in

hostels rooms usually sleep four and occasionally six. Only when staying in our 12th century castle will the number
of people to a room exceed six; and even this is only on occasional departures.
Please note: when staying in multi-share accommodation, this trip operates a single sex policy and therefore
couples should not expect to share together.


Meals

Food Fund
On this trip there is a compulsory Food Fund, which is shown separately on each trip page. This is paid at the time
of booking. Unlike other companies, in addition to the listed breakfasts and dinners, Topdeck also includes many
lunches on travelling days during your trip. This means you don't have to buy lunch at expensive motorway service
stations thus giving you more money to spend on other things.
Included Meals
Your included meals are detailed in the 'Also Included' section of this document.
Breakfasts are included every day (except on the first morning). Included meals will be a combination of those
prepared by Topdeck On-Site Chefs, local restaurants and places in which we stay.
If you have any dietary requirements we will make every effort to cater to your specific needs as long as you advise
your travel agent or Topdeck Trip Consultant when you book. But please be aware that although we will do
everything in our power to arrange it, we cannot guarantee that every restaurant we use will be able to cater to all
dietary needs, particularly in Eastern Europe. We also cannot cater for tastes or dislikes, as most of our included
evening meals feature a set menu.


No Tip Necessary
Your Topdeck crew never expect tips themselves and will not ask for any; thats not what friends do! We also know
how much tipping can cost you. So go ahead, spoil yourself with the money you will save by travelling with
Topdeck!
