Jesus, Defendant,Defender, AND Judge

June 11, 2014

Watchman Dean
Christianity teaches that Jesus is God. They never even CONSIDER hat this
!eans to the syste! of Divine Justice they the!se"ves #reach. $et%s consider
Jesus% ro"e of &#u'"ic defender.&
1 John 2:
1 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if
any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the
righteous:
2 And he is the roitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, !ut also for
the sins of the whole world.
The a'ove scri#tures esta'"ish that Christ is our &DE(ENDER& if any !an sin.
)et, verse to says so!ething curious. It says he is the &#ro#itiation& of our sins.
This !eans &to a##ease.& In other ords, Christ has &a##eased& God%s rath
against us for our sins, 'ut notice it says &for the sins of the *+O$E *OR$D.&
Christians "ove to co!#"ete"y ignore the "ast #art of verse ,. I%ve NE-ER heard a
ser!on on it that I can reca"", other than to say that this &#ro#itiation& is &offered&
to the entire or"d .if they receive it 'y acce#ting Jesus/. )et, this is NOT hat
verse , says. It says he has &a##eased& God%s rath .through atone!ent/ for
O0R sins, &'ut not 1ust O0RS on"y.& Thus, Christ is not 1ust the #ro#itiation of
sins for 0S .those ho have received and acce#ted Christ/. It c"ear"y says &not
1ust for ours on"y.& That one state!ent contradicts the Christian ta2e on it. They
si!#"y read it and !ove on, they never address the contradiction.
3au" to"d Titus as e"" that this Grace 'rought 'y Jesus has 'een given to A$$
!en4
"itus 2
11 For the grace of #od that !ringeth salvation hath aeared to all men,
Christians si!#"y cannot sho ONE verse that says a !an !ust &receive& and
&acce#t& Jesus in order to 'enefit fro! the &#ro#itiation& .atone!ent/ and fro!
Grace. They don%t have ONE SING$E scr#ture5 So hen they start saying that
GRACE A$ONE saves you and Christ%s or2 on the cross +IDES your sins fro!
God, they are ACT0A$$) saying .according to Scri#ture/ that the *+O$E
*OR$D is no saved5
)et, !ore i!#ortant is ho they never consider the i!#"ications of Christ 'eing
the &defender& of those ho sin &ith the (ather.& Christianity teaches that
Christ 'rought us this &#ro#itiation& 'y ta2ing our #"ace on the cross and suffering
God%s rath (OR us. So, in #oint of fact, Christ 'eco!es the DE(ENDANT,
standing 'efore the Judge. So, Christ is 'oth the Defendant, and the Defender.
It gets stranger sti"", for Christ is A$SO the Judge4
John $:
21 For as the Father raiseth u the dead, and %uic&eneth them' even so
the (on %uic&eneth whom he will.
22 For the Father )udgeth no man, !ut hath committed all )udgment unto
the (on:
2* "hat all men should honour the (on, even as they honour the Father.
+e that honoureth not the (on honoureth not the Father which hath sent
him.
So, even though the father 1udges no !an for sin, Christ is our advocate &ith&
the (ather if e shou"d sin6 So, Jesus is the accused .defendant/, he%s a"so the
defense attorney, and no he%s the J0DGE. )et, you have to as2 yourse"f, ho
can he 'e the Judge6 It says that his s#ecific ro"e is J0DGE5 )et, John states in
his "etter that the (AT+ER is the Judge and Jesus is the &advocate.& If Jesus is
'oth Judge and Advocate, to ho! is he advocating our case6 +i!se"f,
evident"y.
Christianity tends to try and shie"d itse"f fro! this sort of dichoto!y 'y saying
things "i2e &Jesus is God 'ut the Son is not the (ather.& Thus they e7#"ain ho
Jesus cou"d 'e the Advocate &ith the (ather& and sit %at the right hand of the
(ather& and yet sti"" 'e God. )et, here, the (ather has co!!itted his ro"e of
&Judge& to his SON so that a"" !en ou"d &honor the Son.& Thus, the Son is the
Judge AND the Advocate.
O'vious"y, so!ething is *RONG ith ho Christians are reading and
inter#reting these verses and hat%s !ore, it%s o'vious that they don%t have a
sing"e C$0E ho 1udg!ent or2s, nor ho Sa"vation or2s.
