At Minchinhampton we have been delighted to have received significant funding to improve the

quality and breadth of PE and sports provision in our school. This funding, given as part of the
Olympic Legacy to schools in England, has been allocated to help raise the profile of PE in schools.
The money can be spent in any way that enhances the teaching of PE and leads to a healthy and
active lifestyle. Schools were given 8000 and an additional 5 per child. This means
Minchinhampton, with 296 pupils on roll, was entitled to 9480. One of the conditions of this money
is that we must publish on our website how we have spent the money so far and what plans we have
to spend the rest.
To ensure we make the most of this funding and gain maximum impact from it we have conducted a
thorough audit of PE and Sports provision in our school, working with an external specialist and
formulated an action plan based on the findings.
Focusing on raising the quality of Teaching and Learning in PE, increasing participation in school
sport, the personal health and well-being of our pupils and improving attitudes and behaviour
towards learning we have been spending this funding in the following ways:
