CONCLUSION
Based on the survey, Purok 7 Barangay Dologon is composed of 51
households. Based on the data, majority of the population are of the
young adults aging 20-40 y/o. This implies that the populations have
the tendency to increase its number each year. In educational
attainment, most of the populations are of the non-school age
children and it is followed by the elementary undergraduate.
Majority of the families earns 3,000 pesos to 6,000 pesos per
month. When illness occurs, much of the population self-medicate
themselves. This implies that the people are knowledgeable on how to
treat themselves. Another significant data is the immunization. Most
of the children aging 0-2 y/o have incomplete immunizations. This
shows that there is a risk of higher incidence of diseases in young
children. Majority of the children aging 1-5 y/o is receiving
supplemental vitamin A. The gathered data also shows that most of the
residents share water source from a water pump. This indicates that
there could be not enough water supplies for the community for the
years to come.
Though the residents get their water from the pump, there are
only minimal cases where in the people acquiring diseases from
drinking water. This implies that there is enough knowledge as to the
proper distance of toilet facility to the water source. With regards
to garbage disposal, most of the residents opted to burn their
garbage which they say their way to prevent mosquito bites. Only 29%
of the residents have the knowledge of the 11 recommended herbal
plants of the DOH. Therefore, an increase in information
dissemination regarding this program is needed in Purok 7, Dologon.
The premises indication also shows that the typical water
drainage systems among the residents are of the open type. This
implies that the frequent cleaning of this type of drainage system
should be done to prevent illness. There is also a decrease risk of
acquiring vector-borne diseases as the data shows that there are no
places where water can accumulate and could be a breeding place for
mosquitoes.

49

RECOMMENDATION
Before going to the community, the succeeding group who will be
going to do Community Health Nursing in Purok 7 Dologon should gather
all needed information to be asked for survey to save time and
energy. Umbrella, water and some snacks could be brought upon going
to the community to protect self from dehydration and hypoglycaemia.
Know the boundaries of the area to determine whether the program is
properly distributed to the residents. It would also be helpful if
the group would tally gathered data every after visit and the basis
and/or ranges of values should be in uniform to facilitate final
tallying of the data. Other activities to be conducted in Purok 7
Dologon could be supported by the gathered information compound in
this book are ready for use.
Frequent cleaning of open drainage system should be reminded to
the residents so that vector-borne diseases could be prevented.
Enough information is provided about health insurance ownership so
the community people is encourage to acquire one for those who does
not own yet.
There is a lack of knowledge about the 11 recommended herbal
plants by the Department of Health. This implies that there should be
an information dissemination program in the community to increase
awareness on these herbal plants where the residents can do self-
medication using alternative medicines. Additional information on
where they could get the plants and how to prepare them for use is
also important. Monitoring population increase should also be
conducted as data shows that most of the population is of the child
bearing age and importance of family planning should be stressed. The
significant quantity of non-completely immunized children should also
be taken into consideration on the succeeding efforts of the Barangay
Health Office.
