The Delta de lEbre is the largest humid zone

of the Catalan territory. It has a surface of

320km2 and it is one of the most important
aquatic habitats of Europe.

BEST TIME OF THE YEAR
In our opinion, the best time for coming to the
Delta is from February to May because of the
migratory flows. The Garganey brings a
procession of birds that make of the Delta
their habitat. So if you are willing to see birds,
come on this time of the year!


WHAT SHOULD YOU BRING?
If you decide to come in February you should
bring warm sporty clothes and if you come in
May, lighter ones. But in spite of the kind of
clothes you bring, what you cannot forget are
the binoculars, good trainers that will make
you able to walk around the amazing
landscapes, sun-cream and lots of mosquito
repellant.

ACCOMMODATION
As for the accommodation, we thought that
the Tancat de Codorniu hotel would be
suitable. It is a 4 stars hotel with swimming-
pool and nice rooms with views to the
beautiful garden.


TRANSPORTATION TO THE DELTA
To get to the Delta, your best option is taking a
plane from an English airport to the Spanish
airport of Reus. There, theres a coach service
that will take you to your hotel.

CLIMATE
The Delta has a typical Mediterranean
weather. The average temperature is 17C.
and it has very high humidity due to the fact
that it is surrounded by the river and the sea.
Wind is usual. Rainfall is irregular

TRANSPORTATION WITHIN THE DELTA
The best way to move around the Delta is by
bike because the landscape is mainly flat, and
there are not big changes in its relief. This
mean of transport allows you to move quickly
and cheaply while you are doing some
exercise and you are enjoying the views.

SIGHTSEEING
Not only the Delta del Ebre offers an
enormous extension of extremely beautiful
rice fields, a beach and lots of paths to tour by
bike, but also lots of little villages around it.
Some of them are:
Amposta: where you can see nice
lagoons and buttresses.
Ametlla de Mar: where you can find
the amazing Sant Jordis Castle or a
small beach for fishermen.



OUT-DOOR ACTIVITIES
This gorgeous place offers a wide
range of out-door activities. From
walking or cycling across the rice
fields, to going to the beach, sailing,
fishing and doing some adventurous
sports.
FLORA AND FAUNA
Deltas fauna is mainly known for its
wide variety of birds like the Naucoris
or the Argiope. There are also many
bloodsuckers in the rice field and a
great diversity of insects like the
dragon-flies or mosquitos.

There are 515 different species of
plants in the Delta. Forests can only be
found in high areas. All plant are
adapted to the high salinity of the
place. Some examples are the
Euphorbia paralias or the Ononis.
