Competency A Professionalism and Understanding:
You continue to demonstrate very satisfactory professionalism. The good rapport you have
established with the learners, peers, and MST should be sustained for the rest of the
practicum. There was no negative report about your conduct from the MST - very
encouraging to observe the collaboration between the two of you during my visits.

Category B Planning for Learning:
A satisfactory lesson plan was provided in time before the lesson. Your lesson outcomes
were expressed in behavioural terms. However, the outcomes need demonstrable verbs -
avoid know. For example, They will be able to know the email. They will be able to
explain the meaning of the term email.

Category C Implementing and Managing Learning:
The lesson began promptly with a quick roll call. Then the learners were reminded of the
rules and classroom procedures. Then the learners were engaged in a quick game to
provided missing letters to words to elicit the word 'SHIFT' for target keys on the keyboard.
Could have been more precise to include the letter 'ah' because all you had was 'SIFT' front
'Sun'; 'Ice Cream'; 'Fruit'; 'Table'. Then the learners were engaged in a quick review of
previously covered information on some functions of keys on a keyboard. The learners were
very earner to respond and were rather boisterous - nevertheless, they were able to give the
correct responses. You might want to discourage shouting when giving responses. Transition
to the teaching point about what happens when the shift key is pressed with other keys took
some effort because the boys were getting distracted- neat that you took advice from your
MST to get all the computers turned off. The teaching point was presented very efficiently.
Then the learners were instructed to open the Rapid Typing program and tasked to practice
'Lesson 1'. The practice was interrupted by the bell. The plenary involved the acknowledging
of the best learner for the day.

Category D Monitoring and Assessment of Learning:
You used Q & A to very good effect to engage the learners and elicit desired responses. You
did great to switch a students sitting for being too chatty with a neighbor - you did great
insisting on on-task behaviour by calling out individual learners in a very tactful way.

Category E Reflection:
Your reflection and self-evaluation after the lesson suggests that you have the ability to
engage in proactive introspection about your teaching effectiveness. Keep this up - reflective
practice is essential for professional growth as a teacher.

Strengths of the Lesson:
The main strengths of this lesson were: Exemplary Rapport with the learners, learner
engagement, use of Q & A., excellent classroom management, and very smooth transitions.
Areas for Development:
Continue working on ensuring that you give a solid model of efficient ICT use: 1) lab set up -
preemptively check the status of the equipment to be aware of how many computers are
available for use and the efficiency of the internet connection - TEST them all and be
prepared to target only those that are in working order. 2) Ensure that you explicitly model
the skill you are presenting to the learners.
Focus for next lesson:
Please continue ensuring that you provide opportunities for more practice using the target
skills.
