Women’s Book Club Tuesday – SoJ’s Women’s Book Club will discuss Veil of Roses by Laura

Wednesday Night Live! – There will be no Wednesday Night Live activities this week due to
Holy Week. Regular Wednesday activities will resume next week, March 26th.

Holy Week Worship: Share in a journey to the cross and beyond!


• Maundy Thursday - Remember and experience the Last Supper, 7 p.m. Thursday.
• Good Friday - Gather in shadows and darkness to Jesus’ death on the cross, 7 p.m. Friday.
• Easter Sunday - Sunrise Service in the south parking lot at 7 a.m. Bring your lawn chairs!
Blended Festival Worship at 9 a.m. Contemporary Festival Worship at 10:45 a.m.

Easter Lilies Needed! Sign up ends today to purchase an Easter lily for $6 to be given “In
Memory Of”, “In Honor Of”, or “In Gratitude For” loved ones or friends.

Easter Breakfast Tickets – Via de Cristo will host an egg strata, sausage, and fruit breakfast
after the sunrise and 9 a.m. services Easter Sunday. Save $.50 and buy your tickets today for a
suggested donation of $5 (age 10+) / $3 (under 10). Proceeds benefit Via de Cristo. SoJ gets 10%.

Volunteers Needed For JoyFest March 29 – SoJ’s 3rd JoyFest will be Saturday, March 29, from
3-9 p.m. Food, inflatables, games, music, entertainers, improv comedy, clowns and more. Flyers
and doorhangers to share with friends and distribute in your neighborhood are available today.
MANY VOLUNTEERS ARE STILL NEEDED. Sign-up today to help for an hour or two!

JoyFest Cookie Donations Needed! We’re looking for 25 people to donate 2 dozen homemade
cookies to give to our JoyFest guests, March 29th. Sign-up today at the Welcome Center!

Women’s Retreat – SoJ’s Women’s Retreat, Traveling Light, is April 11-12. Sign-up soon!

Women’s Retreat Purse Project – You’re invited to contribute items for women at the Harbor
House, a shelter for women & children. The list of small, purse-sized items will be at the Welcome
Center. Place items in the large bag marked Purse Project in the lobby by April 7th. They will be
sorted and put into gently used purses at the women's retreat for distribution. If you prefer to give
cash please note Purse Project on the memo line/envelope. Make checks payable to SoJ.

SoJ Rummage Sale April 18-19 – SoJ will hold a rummage sale April 18-19. 75% of the proceeds
will benefit SoJ’s Burundi Mission Trip. 25% will support East Orange Converge Food Ministries. Our
goal is to raise $4,000. The next date to drop off donated items in the north lobby is March 29th
from 10 to noon. Many volunteers are needed to set-up and to work the days of the sale. To help,

Easter Outreach Team Project Ends Today – SoJ's Outreach Team is collecting monetary
donations for Easter hams for Harvest of Hope to serve 200 families. More funds are needed so
mark an SoJ offering envelope HoH and place it in the offering basket today. Thanks for caring!

Thanks For Supporting IHN! We have concluded another blessed week of serving four home-
less families here at SoJ. Thanks to all who served in any way! What an honor to be associated
with such caring, giving people! Thanks for being so flexible with the changes. We will host again
June 8-15, so please reserve these dates. Orientation will be May 8 for new volunteers.

Quilting Team – Quilters meet the 1st and 3rd Thursdays at 9:30am and go to lunch afterwards.

Bicycle Ministry – Volunteers are needed to help repair bicycles for people in need at 10am on
the 2nd Saturday and 10 am on Wednesdays. To get involved call Will Stevenback, 407-401-1963.

Sunday’s COOL – Students meet in three grade levels: Pre-K, K & 1st grade; 2nd & 3rd Grade, and
4th & 5th Grade classes. Students check in at individual classes. Signs are posted by the door of the
Splash Zone and Classroom to designate classes. 2nd–5th grade students should bring their Bibles
to Sunday’s COOL. Openings are still available for Assistants for both services to assist the 4, 5, &
6 year olds with crafts and projects. Please sign up in the Welcome Center or the Splash Zone.

New Sunday’s Cool Teachers Needed – Sunday’s COOL teachers have the great honor of
touching lives for Jesus! Teachers serve on a bi-weekly basis for 3 months. We are now recruiting
teachers for April-June. Please sign up at the Welcome Center. Questions? See Nicole Eastwood.

JoyFest Youth Volunteers Needed! Youth help is needed to serve as volunteers and make this
year’s JoyFest a success! Please sign up in the Welcome Center or see Nicole Eastwood.

YouthWorks Summer Mission Trip Update – SoJ’s Middle School Youth will be traveling to
Savannah, GA while our High School Youth travel to Bayou La Batre, AL to help with hurricane
cleanup. A $50 deposit is due now! Don’t let money be a barrier! Please see our Family Ministry
Coordinator, Nicole Eastwood. Male Adults are needed to chaperone these two trips.

Paid Nursery Attendant Opening –SoJ is still looking to hire a part-time nursery attendant to
work Sundays from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Interested? See Nicole Eastwood.

Youth Recycling Project – SoJ’s youth recycle inkjet, laser cartridges, AND cell phones. Drop
them in the appropriate box at the Welcome Center. Thanks for your support!

Joy Singers – Anyone high school age and up is welcome to come and sing with our choir. We
are meeting this Wednesday to prepare Good Friday music. Questions? See Phil Greve.

Children’s Choir – No rehearsal this week. Rehearsals will resume Wednesday, March 26 from 7-
8 in the large classroom.

Joyful Noise – This is the Sunday morning worship team, which prepares new music each week to
lead our congregation in worship at 9:00 and 10:45. This week we will meet Saturday from 1-3 to
prepare for Easter. Interested? See Phil about taking a Musical Gifts Assessment.

Instruments for Easter Sunday – SoJ is once again forming a wind section for our worship team
on Easter Sunday. If interested, see Phil Greve TODAY!

Drama Team – SoJ’s Drama Team consists of writers and actors who are interested in utilizing
their talents in short skits to enhance the worship experience. If you would like to be involved in
the Drama Team, please contact Sandy and Doug Gaston at 407-382-4027.

Private Music Lessons – SoJ’s Creative Arts Studio has 12 instructors teaching almost every
instrument and voice. For more information or to register, pick up a flyer at the Welcome Center.

CAS Art Exhibit March 29-30 – The Creative Art Studio will host an art exhibit and sale of
paintings by SoJ member Franka Bartus from 3 p.m.-7 p.m. during the JoyFest and the following
morning before and after worship. Franka’s family will donate a portion of the proceeds to the CAS
Art Department. This is a wonderful opportunity to purchase original art at a moderate price and
support the CAS art program. Contact Nancy Watson or Diane Belk for more information.

Creative Arts Studio Volunteers Needed – Interested in learning how you can support the
outreach of the Creative Arts Studio to our community? Contact Phil Greve! Volunteers are needed
at a variety of levels, from baking cookies for recitals to helping plan the next Deck the Halls
event. If you have a heart for helping others discover and develop their artistic gifts we can find a
place for you to serve!
