Maximo

Enterprise Adapter for SAP Applications manages asset and work management processes and integrates the
SAP system with the rest of the enterprise. The adapter handles transaction messages through Java Message Service queues
and SAP NetWeaver Process Integration. The adapter also updates the systems when you change data on either side of the
integration, depending on how you configure and customize the integration points.
1 Step 1: Access the software and documentation
Access the product software either from IBM Passport Advantage

or from the product DVD if you requested a product

2 Step 2: Plan the installation
Installing Maximo Enterprise Adapter for SAP Applications requires system administrator rights and privileges. Ensure
that IBM Maximo Asset Management version 7.5 or later is installed on the same administrative workstation where you
plan to install Maximo Enterprise Adapter for SAP Applications and in the same language as Maximo Enterprise Adapter
for SAP Applications.
You install Maximo Enterprise Adapter for SAP Applications on a Microsoft Windows administrative workstation. Before
you can install the adapter, you must have the following software and servers installed and running:
v IBM Maximo Asset Management 7.5
v IBM WebSphere

application server or Oracle WebLogic Server with Java Message Service options that are configured
for use with Maximo Asset Management 7.5
v Maximo database server
v SAP ERP 6.0
v SAP NetWeaver Process Integration 7.0 or SAP NetWeaver Process Integration 7.1

3 Step 3: Install the product

To install the product:
1. Review the software requirements.
2. If you are upgrading to Maximo Enterprise Adapter for SAP Applications version 7.5 from an earlier version, update
the environment data.
3. Install Maximo Enterprise Adapter for SAP Applications.
