That ye should shew
forth the praises of
him who hath called
you out of darkness
into his marvellous
light:

I Peter 2:9
Dear Friends and Supporters,

"Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving; Withal praying
also for us, that God would open unto us a door of utterance, to speak the
mystery of Christ, for which I am also in bond." Colossians 4:2-3. We truly do
need prayers as we seek to win souls for the cause of Christ. There are many
opportunities here and we do need wisdom as we look for the Lord's direction
as to which doors we should walk through. We are starting to look at
neighborhoods that have no church or gospel witness and thinking towards
started new works in these areas in the not too distant future. We have also
enrolled Kyle in Portuguese classes as this is his biggest hurdle since we got
here. He is already starting to pick up some words and phrases. Pray that he
will be able to learn the language quickly and easily. He is already participating
in our ministry and wants to more. He will be able to do much more as he
learns. He already stands at the church door inviting passers by in (in English )
and I translate his invitations into Portuguese!

We have already had opportunities to minister and share the gospel. We have
been in homes visiting and witnessing and answering a young couple's
questions on doctrine. We spent some time with a lady after church one
Sunday evening explaining to her the difference between "religion" and a
relationship with Christ. Please pray for this lady?'a salvation. I will also be
preaching at the church my father-in-law started, starting at the end of this
month until we head back to the States. Pray for me as I begin using a
language that is still new to me and the The Lord would step in where my
understanding of Portuguese fails.

We thank The Lord that we have made it to Brazil, but that is only half the
battle. We have been checking into VISA requirements and it seems the
process of acquiring Religious VISAS is going to be a monumental task and a
lot more complicated than we even initially thought. My father-in-law's church
agreed to go through the process of becoming a legally recognized religious
entity in order to invite us into the country as missionaries, as required by
Brazilian Law. Unfortunately, it looks like this process could take years. We are
currently investigating our options in order to legally stay long-term. Please
pray for wisdom and that the Lord will put us in contact with the right people as
we speak to the Federal Police and Immigration lawyers.

We also have a need to raise 25% more of our support. We are here on 75%,
and on a short-term survey and documentation trip it is just barely enough. To
stay here long-term we need at least about $1,000 more per month, realistically
speaking. Please pray and ask the Lord if He would have you help in this area.

Thank you all for your prayers and financial support. We could not be here
ministering in Brazil without your help. We look forward to seeing many results
and seeing souls saved and people discipled to carry on the work!

In His Service,

Jon, Tonya, and Kyle Harman
