Teamwork and leadership


I have experienced the spirit of teamwork in RAK TDA, all the departments are
connected together and interact as a one team all that to increase performance, bounce
ideas and develop Ras Al Khaimah as desired destination. The team is divided into
small groups that have different tasks and responsibilities.
For example, I have experienced the teamwork with Tourism Licensing and permits
Department this department is divided to sections, first section is licensing and
permits, in this section I worked with two members Hiba and Sema and they are
responsible of the same tasks. The responsibilities of this section are:
Assist and respond to all clients queries
Get all detailed information required and compile requirements needed
Check all kind of applications that are submitted by customers
Raise payment orders to process their desired requirements
Prepare all kind of tourism licenses and permits for new ,renewal , amendment
and cancellation
Preparing letters for all government entities and arrange meetings
Follow up for customers complaints
Preparing all reports for the License and Tourism Permits Department
Tracking all processed and to be processed transactions
Solely in-charge of testing and communicating with the system team to be able
to come up with a correct system to be used by the department
Handle all the correspondences the are related to Licenses Department
Update the appropriate forms and data entry
Arrange and submit to the management monthly report that covers the
department performance
Support all clients , process information and ensure confidentiality
Receive new investments and projects
Issuance of initial approvals (New - Renewal - Amendment - Cancel)

Issuance of licenses and permits for hotels, resorts, hotel apartments, motel,
guesthouse and tourist restaurants and any tourism-related activities
Issuance of licenses and permits for travel and tourism offices and supervision
Issuance of certificates and Classification Panel
Issuance of entertainment permits.
Issuance of permits for desert safaris and other tourist related activities.
Issuance of advertisements & tourism offers permits
Issuing of license tour guides
Receive, direct and relay telephone messages and fax messages
Responding to inquiries
Reception reviewers and clients
Coordination and communication with other sections in the Authority
Prepare special reports for the workflow to the direct charge
Any other duties assigned by the Manager Administrative License & Permits
and situated in area of specialization
The other section is the inspection and in this section I worked with Mohammad
Owaida and Mohammad Zaky, they also responsible of the same tasks. The
responsibilities of this section are:
Initiates all aspects of inspections for any premise, hotel, establishment
requiring a tourism license of permit
Initiates required action for response to customer service enquires to the
licensing & permits departments
Inspection of new sites to ensure that the validity and conditions of the
licenses are met (New- Renewal- Amendment)
Proficient in section classification: (New- Renewal- Amendment)
Receive and action all complaints from tourists, clients and tourism
establishments in cooperation with the relevant authorities and provide
detailed reports on the results of the investigation to the licensing director
Editing irregularities: warning fine summons confiscation closing the
facility.
Responsible of assisting individuals in obtaining the license and permits
Strict evaluation of licensing documents to determine eligibility for
classification
Ability to read and interpret inspection process with specifications
Verify valid licenses and permit are displayed in establishments
Constantly aware of and strict reporting of any violations of licensing rules
and regulations
Maintain a strict policy in ensuring that properties are adhering to the rules
and regulations in order to quality experience for the visitors

Strengthen relationships with internal and external clients for Authorizes

Constant review and feedback to ensure that the quality of service provided is
maintained
Any order duties assigned by the manager-administrative License & permits
The leader of this team is the manager-administrative of License & permits
department Mr. Mohammad Lojaab, his responsibilities are:
Giving orders
Monitoring team members
Deals with some customers
Checking on all the papers that were done by the members
We all make a one big circle because for example the license and permit section
cannot make any step further without making sure that the inspection section have
made their pressures first and after this the manager administrative have to approve it,
at the end we all connected to each other and complete each other.
I enjoyed so much this team and the teamwork together and it was great, because I
have learned and gained a lot of things on the personal aspect and future career aspect
which added to my personality and made me stronger I admit it that my personality
became much stronger when I thought mine is already strong also, this experience
will help me with my future career, because now I have more of the knowledge and
experience on how to deal with colleagues, managers and customers.
I gained some great skills and experience, and they are:
A high developed sense of integrity and commitment to customer satisfaction
excellence with respect to treating and caring for customers
Ability to communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in
writing
Pleasant, patient and friendly attitude added to my personality.
Strong detail orientation and communication/listening skills.
Willingness to work a flexible schedule and occasional overtime when needed
Possess a strong work ethic and team player mentality

This organization Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority has a good
impact on the society because they are making a great effort in arranging an
entertaining activates for the society members as well as for the tourist who are
coming lately in a big number to the city also, putting together the best plans to make
Ras Al khaimah one of the most wanted destination for fun and relaxing for both local
families and tourist.
On the other hand, the Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority has another
responsibility which is applying rules and regulations for the entertaining world (night
clubs, travel and cargo shops, some restaurants and alcohol markets) to protect the
society from accruing any illegal issues to happen.

I set my priorities first of all by the highest importance to lowest importance, high
importance include deadlines the tasks that close to deadline, so that I finish them all
and don not leave them for the end and then rush through it, and one of my priorities
is seeking and serving the needs of the customers.
If I am not given work enough I go to manager ask for anything that I can do
and if there is nothing to do I go and help my colleagues in their work. However, I
have too much given work I give my best to finish them all in a good period of time,

most of the work I have to do is easy because I have been through it in the college so I
am familiar to it but, there is a time when I go to my colleague and ask them to help
me in understanding some of the tasks.
