EVS-MEXICO
How does SIIJUVE A.C. manage EVS Programmes?
SIIJUVE A.C. selects volunteers from different countries who have the qualities and enthusiasm for
volunteering with NGOs in Mexico.
SIIJUVE A.C. provides the volunteer with:
- Training: Depending on the time the volunteer stays in Mexico, s/he will receive 1, 2 or 3
seminars (On arrival Training, Midterm Evaluation, Final Evaluation)
- Spanish course
- Support with visa: We give to the volunteer all documents that are required for the visa.
- Support during the time in Mexico: SIIJUVE A.C. have several national volunteers that
functions as contact persons. Each volunteer has a contact person from SIIJUVE A.C. who
will be available 24 hours in case there is an emergency. They also provide support in case
there is a conflict with the project or host situation.
- Food and accommodation: Volunteers are placed with Mexican families or at the host
projects. Most of the projects in Mexico do not have facilities for volunteers therefore it is
very likely to be placed in a Mexican family.
- We provide the volunteer a project according to his/her profile and the requirements of
the projects.
Projects provide to the volunteer:
- Introduction to the organization, programmes and staff during the first days.
- Meaningful activities.
- Mentor: There is a specific person in charge of monitoring volunteers tasks.
Administration for EVS Programmes:
SIIJUVE A.C.s role is as host organization and we are fully responsible for the volunteers. The
project is not responsible of volunteers.
Financially, SIIJUVE A.C. receives the funding and it is given directly to the project or family for the
services given to the volunteer. We also give funds for local transportation and pocket money to
the volunteer and administrate all the expenses of the seminars and Spanish course.
We provide a financial report with all the expenses of the volunteer to the sending organization.
SIIJUVE A.C. always provides copy of the receipts, never the originals as they are used for our
accountability with the government.
Extension of the programme:
Volunteers can extend their time in Mexico only if they want to travel. They cant extend their
period of volunteering because we have a list of volunteers coming to Mexico and projects so we
need to have available places and give chances to more people to experience time as a volunteer
in our country.
If the volunteer would like to stay longer for traveling then they have to let us know 3 months
before the original departure date. Both sending and organizations should agree on it. This is for
making appropriate arrangements.
LIST OF POSSIBLE PROJECTS FOR 2013

AIMS OF THE PROJECT Aldea S.O.S. is a nonprofit, nongovernmental
organization, which principally aim to create families for
children who have lost their parents, integrating them in
a system where they can have a normal life and a
positive future.
Aldea Infantiles SOS was born in Europe after the

children in their psychological and physical
recuperation.
This project gives a permanent home and a stable
environment, helping them to build their own future
and to be involved in the development of their
communities
PROJECTS ACTIVITIES The SOS Children's Village family-like structure is formed
by four basic principles: mother, brothers and sisters,
house and village.
Each child is given a so-called SOS mother. She is the
main person who cares for this child and is a substitute
for the child's natural parents. She lives in a house
together with the children that she is looking after.
Together with them she organizes the family's daily life.
She creates strong and dependable relationships and
gives the children a safe and loving home. The job of an
SOS Children's Village Mother is usually carried out by
single women who have to complete an extensive
training programme. They are supported in their highly
responsible task by educational co-workers as well as by
women who are still training to be SOS Children's Village
mothers.
Girls and boys of differing ages grow up together in an
SOS Children's Village family like brothers and sisters.
Natural brothers and sisters are not separated. Children
are accepted from small babies until the age of ten
unless there are brothers and sisters involved, in which
case the children could be older.
In Tuxtla Gutierrez the principal activities include
physical and psychological rehabilitation though
different kind of therapy. The aim of the activities is to
improve the quality of the life of the children, to
stimulate their personal skills, in order to improve their
self-confidence.
Beyond that there are also other types of facilities and
aid programmes whose main intention it is to improve
living conditions for families in the neighbourhood on a
