Job Description

Job Title : Assistant Accounts Officer
Supervisor : Head of Finance
Grade : 2
Project/Program: Sustainable Water facility and Hygiene Promotion for the Northeast
Flash Flood Prone Areas in Gowainghat, Sylhet

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

01. Financial Transactions & Operations:
Check/review of regular expenditures (bills/advance adjustment/house rent, fund
disbursement, etc) for for field office
Prepare vouchers for payment and entry in Ledger (QuickBooks).
Cash/cheque payment against bill, advance, VAT & Tax.
Handling compliance of financial policies & procedures.
Maintain contact with Banks and other counterparts.
Prepare monthly Bank reconciliation statements.
Salary transfer and pay slip confirmation.
Preserve accounts related documents safely.

02. Budget preparation, monitoring and analysis:
In collaboration with finance team and program units, assist in the preparation,
monitoring and variance analysis of budgets.
Respond to queries in matters related to the budget and expenditures.
Forecast monthly/quarterly expenditure.
03. Financial reporting and fund requesting:
Assist in the preparation of monthly/quarterly and annual financial reports.
Ensure that reporting deadlines are adhered to.
Preparation of monthly receipts & payments accounts for IRCO.
Preparation of monthly fund request to IRCO mentioning details of the requirement.
04. Yearly Closing & Audit:
Assist in yearly closing of Quick Books and other financial matters.
Respond to auditors queries.
Take necessary measures on financial matter as per audit recommendations.

05. Participate in procurement committee:
Participate in the IRR office procurement of goods and services in accordance with
IR-Bs procurement policies and procedures.
Any other duties assigned by the management.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATION:

Master (Accounting) /MBA (Accounting /Finance) Degree from any recognized & UGC
approved university.
Minimum 2 (Two) years experience in an international NGOs.


IT SKILL:


Islamic Relief Bangladesh Human Resources Department
Proven expertise and knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point &
Accounting Software ( TALLY & QUICKBOOK)

SALARY & OTHER BENIFITES:

JOB LEVEL: Entry level.

LOCATION: Any Union of Gowainghat Upazilla, Under Sylhet
