TRANSLATION
In the ame of Allah! the "enefi#ent! the Mer#iful$ "y the ame of
Allah and %ea#e of Allah on Mohammed &S$A$'$( and His sa#red
%ro)eny$ I entrust all of my affairs to Allah to o*ersee and su%er*ise+
indeed Allah wat#hes o*er all of His ser*ants$ So then He %rote#ted
His #hosen ,ro%het Muhammad from the #unnin) of the e*il %lans of
others$ -.here is no /od "ut 0ou! /lory belon)s to 0ou alone! indeed
I was amon)st those who were unjust to the self$
So then 'e &Allah( answered his %rayers and sa*ed him from
)rief and sorrow and thus do we always sa*e the true belie*ers$
Allah alone is enou)h for us to rely u%on and He is the Most .rusted$
So they 1 the )ood doers - returned thanks for Allah2s )ra#e and
thus! they were not tou#hed by e*il sin#e they had Allah2s %rote#tion$
'hate*er Allah wants to ha%%en in the world will o##ur$
.here is no inde%endent %ower or stren)th e3#e%t with Allah$
It is the will and determination of Allah whi#h will trium%h at all
times and not the will of the %eo%le$ It is the will and determination

SOME RE<OMMENDED DUAS
3mam 8afar e Sadi= (a.s) has said2 C when a person recites the following ten times before
the sunrise and before the sunset e6ery day2 all his sins committed on that day will be
pardoned4

La ilaha il Allaho wahdahu la shareeka lahu lahul mulko wa lahul hamdo
yohi wa yumeeto wa yohi wa huwa hayyun la yamooto be yadahil khaire wa
huwa ala kulle shaiyin qadeer

The rophet (pbuh) said2 DDo not neglect the two rakat at the time of ghaflah (time of
inattenti6eness)2 and they are between the 3shaEain prayers (maghribF3sha).
3mam al)a=ir (*S)said2 D3blees disperses his soldiersG the night soldiers after the sun sets
till the setting of twilight2 and his day soldiers from dawn until the rising of the sun. The
rophet used to say2 Dincrease remembrance of *llah (dhikr) at these times2 and seek
refuge in *llah from the e6il of 3blees and his soldiers2 and in6oke the protection of *llah
for your young ones at these two hours for they are hours of inattenti6eness (ghaflah)
'(#. :hufayla prayers is one of the Mustahab prayers which is offered between Maghrib
and 3sha prayers.

.he time for %rayin) Salatul-Layl is from midni)ht &midni)ht is re#koned as
the time whi#h is e3a#tly half the time between sunset and the a#tual dawn(
to the time of Adhan for Fajr %rayers$ Howe*er! it #an be %rayed at anytime
after Isha %rayers but it is better to %ray durin) the last %art of the ni)ht
near to the time of Fajr %rayers$ If it is not %ossible to %ray after midni)ht
or before Fajr! then it #an be %rayed in the mornin) or any %art of the day
with the niyyah &intention( of Cadha$ It is better to %ray with the niyyah of
Cadha durin) the day time than to %ray in the early %art of the ni)ht$
ote; A##ordin) to Ayatullah Seestani! the time for Salatul-Layl is from
midni)ht to the Adhan time for Fajr %rayers$ Howe*er! it is better to %ray
near the time of Fajr %rayers$ Anyone who finds it diffi#ult to %ray Salatul-
Layl after midni)ht #an %ray before midni)ht$

METHOD

Salatul-Layl is made up of eleven Rakats

.he first ei)ht Rak2ats are %rayed as normal in %airs of
two Rak2ats ea#h with the niyyah of awafilatul-Layl$

.he ne3t two Rak2ats are %rayed with the iyyah of
Salatul Shaf2a$

.he remainin) one Rak2at is %rayed with the iyyah of
Salatul 'itr$

In the last one Rak2at! Cunoot is re#ited before Rukuu and the
Salat is #om%leted as usual with .ashahud and Salaam$ .he last
one Rak2at is %rayed as follows;

Hold .asbih in the ri)ht hand for kee%in) #ount of the dhikr
mentioned below to be re#ited$
Make iyyah and say .akbiratul Ihram$
Re#ite; Surah Al-Hamd+
Surah Cul Huwallahu Ahad - three times+
Surah Cul-Audhubi Rabbil Fala6 - on#e+
Surah Cul-Audhubi Rabbin aas - on#e$
