TheHumboldtUniversittzuBerlinarrangesoffcampusaccommodationforinternationalexchange
studentsandhasgiventhetaskofarrangingaccommodationatStudentenwerkBerlinand
StudentendorfAdlershoftotheERGUniversittsserviceGmbH.
TheHumboldtUniversittzuBerlin/ERGUniversittsserviceGmbHonlyservesasanintermediaryand
isthereforenotliableforanyagreementbetweenthetwopartiesofrenterandlandlord.
Youcanonlyregisterforaspecifichousingprovider(eitherStudentenwerkBerlinorStudentendorf
Adlershof)notforaspecifictypeofroom/category!
Additionallyregistrationispossibleforonlyoneaccommodationoption!

Withinoneaccommodationoptionyouwillbeaccommodatedintwodifferenttypesofroom:eithera
singleroomwithsharedfacilitiesorasingleapartmentwithownkitchenetteandbathroom.
Allsinglerooms/singleapartmentsarefullyfurnished.

organizationtheStudentenwerkBerlin.
IfyouregisterforaccommodationatStudentenwerkBerlinyouwillbeplacedinoneofthetwo
followingdormbuildings.Pleasenotethatwecannotguaranteeyouanaccommodationinthedorm
ofyourchoice,placesaresubjecttoavailability.Weactasanintermediarybetweenyouandthe
StudentenwerkBerlin.Preferencescanbeenteredinthecommentfieldontheonlineapplicationform.
Pleasenotethatinternetaccessisnotincludedintherent.Youcanarrangeanindividualcontractwith
atelecommunicationcompanyorusetheStudentenwerk`sinternetprovidertogetaccesstointernet.

4. RegistrationProcedure

Pleasenote(!)thatthenumberofplacesislimited.Thereforewerecommendregisteringfor
accommodationassoonaspossible!
Step1
Pleasefillintheonlineregistrationform(seelinkbelow).Makesurethatyoucompleteallthefields
andwriteyournameandemailaddresscorrect.Ifyourrequestissuccessfullysubmitted,youwill
receiveanautomaticallygeneratedemailconfirmingyourregistrationimmediately.Pleasecontactusif
youdonotreceiveaconfirmationofregistration.
Step2
Withinoneweekyouwillreceiveanofficialemailconfirmationpromptingyoutotransferthe
reservationfee.Thefullamountmustbepaidtoouraccountwithinoneweek(dateofreceipt)tomake
theregistrationlegallybinding.
Step3
Oncethepaymenthasbeenreceivedwesendyouanofficialconfirmationemail.Yourapplicationwill
gonowthroughaninhouseallocationprocess.
Step4
Youwillreceiveaplacementemailwithallaccommodationandarrivaldetailsabouttwoweeksbefore
yourestimatedmoveindate.

6. CancellationConditionsaccordingtoGeneralTermsandConditions
Cancellationsofexistingreservationsmustbecommunicatedinwriting(anemailissufficient,buthas
tobeconfirmedbytheERGUniversittsserviceGmbH)atleastfourweekspriortothebeginningofthe
rentalcontract.A50EURcancellationfeeappliesandwillbedeductedfromthereservationfeebefore
itisrefundedtothestudentbyERGUniversittsserviceGmbH.Allbanktransactionfeesmustbe
coveredbytheapplicant.
Nofeesofanykindarerefundedincaseofcancellationlessthanfourweekspriortothebeginningof
therentalcontract.

7. UseofReservationFee
Thepaidreservationfeewillbeusedasfollows:
StudentenwerkBerlin:
Areservationfeeof500EURapplies.Aservicefeeof50EURwillbedeductedfromthereservationfee
andretainedbyERGUniversittsserviceGmbH.
TheremainingamountwillbeforwardedfromERGUniversittsserviceGmbHtotheStudentenwerk
BerlinandservesasasecuritydepositwhichwillbekeptbytheStudentenwerkBerlinadministration
untilthestudentmovesout.Thesecuritydepositwillbepaidbackafteryourdeparturebybanktransfer
aslongyoudonothaveanyoutstandingcostsandtheroomisingoodcondition.

StudentendorfAdlershof:

Areservationfeeof600EURapplies.Aservicefeeof50EURwillbedeductedfromthereservationfee
andretainedbyERGUniversittsserviceGmbH.
TheremainingamountwillbeforwardedfromERGUniversittsserviceGmbHtothe
StudentendorfAdlershof.TheStudentendorfAdlershofwilldeductaservicefeeof30EURfromthe
reservationfeeaswell.Theremainingamountservesasasecuritydepositwhichwillbekeptbythe
StudentendorfAdlershofadministrationuntilthestudentmovesout.Thesecuritydepositwillbepaid
backafteryourdeparturebybanktransferaslongyoudonothaveanyoutstandingcostsandtheroom
isingoodcondition.

Thetenantmustsigntherentalcontractandpaythefirstmonthsrentwhenmovingin.
Thetenantwillberequiredtopaythemonthlyrenteachmonthdirectlytothelandlord`sbankaccount.
Bankdetailscanbefoundintherentalcontract.Informationaboutthepaymentarrangementswillbe
provideduponarrival.

8. RentalContractConditions:

Theminimumrentalperiodis6months.Thewintersemesterrentalperiodiscommittedto
September1,2014toFebruary28,2015.
StudentendorfAdlershof:
Theminimumrentalperiodis5months.Thewintersemesterrentalperiodiscommittedto
October1,2014toFebruary28,2015.

Pleasenote:
ConstructionatStudentendorfAdlershofwillnotbefinishedbeforeendofSeptember.Thereforea
moveinbeforeOctober1,2014isnotpossible!
AdditionallyitmightbepossiblethatsomeapartmentswillnotbecompletedbeforeOctober15,
2014.InthatcaseaffectedstudentswillbeinformedbytheStudentendorf`sadministrationontime.
Anotheraccommodationwillbeofferedfortheinterimperiod.
Therentalcontractperiodmustbeginonthe1standendonthelastdayofthemonth.
AterminationoftherentalcontractbeforeFebruary28,2015isnotpossible!Thetimespanisnot
negotiablei.e.therentispayableforthewholesix/fivemonths,evenifaccommodationisneeded
forashorterperiod.
Regardlessofyouractualarrivaldateanddeparturedatetherentalperiodisafixedtermperiod.
