prayers while I was in and out of the hospital with 3 surgeries in 5

Used Backpacks and Book Bags
Please put the word out that we can use backpacks and book bags
to donate to the folks who come to our community meal. For
further information, please contact Mary at mbs1058@aol.com.

Temporary Scripture Reader Needed for 8:30 a.m. Service
Rich Deetz usually serves as a Scripture Reader on the first Sunday
of every month at the 8:30 a.m. Service. He is unable to do this for
the months of July, August and September. If anyone is willing to
fill in for him, please contact Maria at the church office or send an
email to church@esumc.net.

Revisions to Prayer List
We are adding a Military listing under the prayers request section
of the bulletin. If you know of someone you would like to put on
the list, please give us their full name and what branch of service.
You can email this information to church@esumc.net. We are also
adding a section for Thanksgiving so you can list your thanks and
praises for answered prayers. These can be listed on the
attendance cards along with your prayer concerns.

Important Notes:

A number of our staff members are in the process of moving their
offices which means their extension numbers will change. For the
time being, please call the office and Maria can connect you to the
person you are looking for. Please watch for a revised email and
extension list within the next few weeks. Thanks for your patience.




Reaching Out

Members of the church family who are no longer able to attend
church are always happy to hear from you! Cards and notes may
be sent to Doris Rodriguez, 3274 Trafalgar Ave., East Stroudsburg,
Pa. 18302.

Health Care Equipment
Walkers, crutches, canes, bath stools, adult potty chairs,
wheelchairs, Depends, and other healthcare equipment is available
to those in need. Contact Peggy Strack, 570-421-3280, ext. 23.

Stephen Ministry

Here am I, Lord, send me. Isaiah 6:8

Stephen Ministry seeks to be a loving presence of the
caring Christ to members of our church and community. It is a
one-on-one ministry by trained and caring Christians. Stephen
Ministers seek to bring Christs healing love to people who are
lonely, grieving, strangers, new parents, ill, or experiencing other
stresses in life. An in-depth training course will begin in September
for members of ESUMC who desire to become involved in this life-
changing ministry. For more information, contact Peggy Strack,

Caring Callers
Phone calls are being placed by caring volunteers to folks who
have demonstrated active attendance at ESUMC worship services,
but have not registered attendance for four or more Sundays. The
purpose is to discern if a need is present which the church family
may help to meet. Please register your attendance on the
communication card found in the bulletin or pew, so that you do
not receive an unnecessary phone call!







Opportunities

UMC Annual Picnic
All women young and old alike are invited to Jeanette Raughleys
house for our picnic on Monday, July 7
th
at 6:30 p.m. Bring a
covered dish to share. For more information, contact Linda Drake

July 13 at 3:00 p.m. Sacred SongFest and Fine Art Exhibit
Helpers needed: set up art exhibit, be a greeter for SongFest, and
help in kitchen. Contact foxes@esumc.net. A variety of sing-along
sacred favorites, led by our musicians and guest Rachael Heater.

The Annual Upstairs Bargain Basement will be held on
Friday, August 8
th
and Saturday, August 9
th
. Drop off dates for
donations are Wednesday, August 6
th
and Thursday, August 7
th
.
We will also need people to help set up as well as work the sale.

Attention All Senior High Youth! Grab your Sunscreen, Bible,
Towel, and a Friend! We are having a retreat to Brick, New Jersey
August 22nd to the 24th. Paper work will be available in the youth
room. A $40.00 deposit is due ASAP. Final cost TBD. Don't let cost
get in the way, contact Scott Kuhnle for available scholarships.

Youth Ministry
Please take a few minutes to pray for our youth, youth leaders,
adult volunteers and Scott for the summer. Please pray for spiritual
growth, safety, health and Christian bonding.
