PROJECT NAME: Roads and Infrastructure in west Bay Block 2500 PROJECT LOCATION AND SCOPE: The site is located approximately 10km north of the centre of Doha, Qatar. The project area is irregular in shape and covers an area of approximately 70.5 Hectares (Ha).The eastern boundary of the site is defined by West Bay Lagoon gated community with associated residential properties and infrastructure. The northern boundary is defined by a dual lane highway with Doha Golf Club beyond. Al Jamiaa Street defines the western boundary of the site, with a Wadi present immediately to the west of this road and Qatar University beyond. The southern boundary is defined by West Bay Lagoon Street. The site is currently in the early stages of development with some temporary roads constructed, comprising tarmac roads with no kerbs or footpaths. Although the majority of the West Bay Block 2500 site is still to be developed, there are areas where large villas that have been completed or are under construction with some already occupied. In addition, a large development for the Supreme Education Council is under construction at the southern end of the site with associated access roads and infrastructure. A number of completed substations were identified within West Bay Block 2500. Some utilities have been laid, consisting of water, electricity, telecommunication and sewerage with no road drainage on site. The project will provide infrastructure, roads, drainage and utilities, for approximately 80residential plots, a mosque, recreation parks, few governmental public institution and Supreme Education Council (currently under construction) occupying a substantial portion at the southern end of this development with an internal and perimeter highway network of roads within a 16m wide corridor. The proposed road network will contain simple priority junctions, including right-in/right-out junctions and tie-ins to existing Al Jamiaa Street and Golf Course Street.
