Harmful effects on the respiratory system

Causes addiction. Nicotine

Causes Illness such as bronchitis, throat cancer
and lung cancer. Tobacco tar

Blackens the lungs and cause them less efficient.

Damage alveolus cells.

Causes lung cancer. Acid

Corrodes lung cells.

Causes illness such as coughing, asthma,
bronchitis. Carcinogen

Stimulates the growth of cancer cells, causing
lung cancer and throat cancer.

Diseases affecting the respiratory system
Emphysema

It happens as a result of abnormal growth in the cells that lines the
tiny air channels in the lungs causing these channels to become
blocked.

This growth causes carbon dioxide trapped in alveolus and causes
the alveolus to burst.

Bursting of the alveolus cannot be repaired.

Bronchitis

Bronchitis is inflammation of the epithelium (cell layer) of
the bronchus caused by fine particles that float in the air
that are mostly found in cigarette smoke.

Lung Cancer

Cancerous lung cells are unusual cell growths in the
lungs.

Carcinogen, the chemical substance found in cigarettes,
is the main cause of the lung cancer.

Asthma

Asthma is a type of disease caused by the inflammation of
the breathing channel.

The breathing channel of a patient suddenly becomes
narrow.

Asthma may cause by dust (air pollutant), smoking or
cigarette smoke.

Improving the quality of air

Use air cleaning system to dissolve poisonous toxic gases
like sulphur dioxide and nitrogen dioxide in water before it
was released to the atmosphere.

Stop Smoking to prevent the release cigarette smoke in the
air.

Install catalyst convertors on vehicle exhaust to reduce the
release of dangerous gases like carbon monoxide.

Install electrostatic precipitators on factory chimney to
remove pollutant.
