HCT-900 SYSTEM CONVECTION REWORK
The HCT-900 Hand Held Convection Tool offers a low cost, versatile rework solution for a wide variety
of production and rework application challenges. It has a compact, robust design comprising of analog
controls for both airfow and heat. A closed loop feedback circuit controls the temperature allowing the
desired temperature to be achieved and maintained regardless of changes in the volume of airfow.
The HCT-900 can be used for the removal and replacement of electronic components, including lead-free, from
0201 up to 304-Pin QFP. It is also effective at reworking pin-hole devices such as sockets and connectors. And,
using it with solder braid and fux is a fast and effcient way to remove solder shorts and splashes. It can also be
used in plastic applications such as applying shrink wrap to components or the formation of plastic rivets.

GLOW CORE is a no-clean, resin based fux cored wire solder
designed to offer excellent wetting characteristics and lead-free
compatibility. This product is very active and is recommended for
fast cycle time soldering. GLOW CORE fux promotes good thermal
transfer, offering better solder penetration into plated through holes
and surface mount interconnections. GLOW CORE cored wire
produces low-to-medium post-processes residues that are electrically
safe and do not require cleaning for most applications.
Water Soluble Wire Solder

Highly activated water soluble fux cored wire
High Activity Level and Very Good Wetting
Good thermal transfer reduces oxidation
of solder iron tip
Post-process residues easily cleaned in hot water
Water soluble cored wire features a halide-activated system that has been neutralized with
an amine. The amine hydrohalide provides a high activation level that produces excellent
tarnish or oxide removal, and maximum capillary action, leading to faster wetting, and
reducing the chances of thermal degradation of the boards materials. Any fux residue from
this solder is readily soluble in hot water.

It is more effective and heat stable than rosin fuxes in soldering diffcult metals. Soldering with 331 should always
be followed with a water wash to remove the residues which are conductive and can absorb moisture. Flux by

Kester water soluble fuxes are high activity, organic fuxes designed for automated soldering of
circuit board assemblies where more aggressive fuxes are required, but reliability considerations are

2300 SERIES DUAL CONDUCTOR CORDS
3M Dual Conductor Ground Cord is part of
a personnel ground monitoring system. The
3M Workstation Monitors Models 724, 725,
and 790 use a dual conductor type wrist strap
system consisting of a dual conductor wristband
and ground cord. The dual system allows for a
monitored loop resistance measurement, which
includes the wristband contact to the wearer and
a redundant grounding path. If one conductor
of the system fails, the other can still function
maintaining the grounding of the person. As a
result, this prevents static from being generated by
the person, eliminating possible exposure to static-
sensitive electronic components. The 2300 series
are compatible with all existing 3M dual conductor
fabric, metal, and thermoplastic wristbands.

3M SCC INSTRUMENTATION
Combination wrist strap/tester allows associates to test
their own wrist straps, heel grounders or shoes. Wrist
strap monitors measures the resistance of the wrist strap
and person to ensure proper operation of the wrist strap
and connection of the grounding product to a person.
