ASSIGNMENT Question 1: Explain differences between males and females in terms of physical strength, cognitive ability, communication and mating and your suggestions for daily. Males and females as they are have many differences. They are different in their body figures, how they think and study, ways they communicate with other people. In this essay, I will use my understandings and knowledge to explain these differences. First, males and females are significantly different in body figure and physical strength. As a fact, only women can bear the child and nurse them. To help nursing the baby, women have breast to feed babies milk. Also, in order to carry and birth children, they must have wider hips and keep extra fat in store for the ordeal of pregnancy. Estrogens are the sex hormones, which will make those things happen more easily. During puberty, estrogens stimulate the growth of a girls sex organs, as well as her breast, which in future help the girl in her pregnancy. With the differences in amount of estrogen hormone, the male metabolism burns calories faster, the female metabolism tends to convert more food to fat. This fat in women will be stocked in breasts, hips, buttocks, subcutaneous fat in the bottom layer of their skin giving a womans skin softer, plumper feel. As a result, women have more body fat in general and less muscle mass than men. Men with mass muscle are more capable of doing heavy things are considered stronger than woman who are considered physically delicate. Even though being considered stronger about physical strength, men have shorter life span than women in general. Several conducted researches show that more boys than girls are conceived ( approximately 125 boys for every 100 girls), but at birth the ratio narrows to 106 boys for every 100 girls with the rest of boys dying in spontaneous abortion. As the age increases, more females than males are in age groups. For example, between ages 15 and 24, men are four to five times more likely to die than women. This time frame coincides with the puberty and an increase in reckless and violent behavior in males. Most deaths in this male group come from motor vehicles accidents, followed by suicide, and drowning. One contributor to the gender differences in life span is the influence of sex hormones. The male hormone testosterone not only increases aggressive and competitive behavior in young men, it increases levels of harmful cholesterol, raising a males chances of getting heart disease or stroke. Second, people often wonder whether one sex is more intelligent than the other. In fact, there is no tremendous difference between genders. At young age, girls have more vocabulary than boys. However, boys will soon catch up later. There is no differences in males and females have similar verbal intelligence in spite of the fact that males are less likely to read for pleasure than females are. The small differences may be due to the way girls and boys learn. Most girls begin with words, either spoken or written. Boys, on the other hand, are more likely to learn better when they can manipulate or view the materials. A number of researchers have noted that men and women view communication differently, for woman, communication is a way to establish and maintain relationships. By contrast, men tend to view communication as a way of exerting their control, preserving independence, and enhancing status. Therefore, men usually talk directly to the problem and solutions so that they can show their own opinions, skills and abilities. Meanwhile, women are gentle. They spend more time with friends and family. There should be no discrimination in work place. Some work requires gentle acts, but some may ask for fierce. In my opinion, there is no one who is important than another. Females and males can work together to get the best they could and share the qualities in order to achieve the most as employees. Third, several considerations influences a persons selection of a suitable mate. Women are limited in the number of children they can have during their lifetime when men have no restriction when it comes to reproduction. Thus, women will seek for a mate who has resources to support their parental efforts. Physical appearance plays a big part in mate selection. Females prefer male with muscles, strong jaw line, broad shoulders because these features indicate good health, which also means good genes. Men tend to seek young women with full lips, breasts, and hips, which indicate sufficient estrogen levels to successfully birth a child. Question 2: Choosing and analysing one of the theories of personality and discussing how to apply the chosen theory in human resource management, give 3 examples for. Humanistic theory of Carl Rogers and Abraham Maslow focus on the present and healthy personality, on conscious influences on behavior and on the more positive aspects of human nature. This theory uses concept of self- actualization.
