INTRODUCTION AND AGENT BACKGROUND
I make this affidavit in support of an application for a warrant to search the premises

PROB AB L E CAU SE
On June 16, 2014 Craig Ahrends reported to me that on June 15, 2014 at
approximately 1800 HRS he answered a knock on his apartment door, located at
214 South 21 ST, Street, Apartment #112 in Sac City, lowa. Craig opened the door
and was met by Zachary Rix. Zachary immediately began screaming at Craig and
accusing him of being part of some king of conspiracy . Zach had his shirt off and
Craig observed that Zachary had the word (FEAR) scratched into his chest. Craig
told Zachary to come in and sit down, so they could talk. Craig sat in a rocking chair
and Zachary refused to sit. Zachary kept screaming at Craig. Zachary jumped on
Craig and began chocking him around his throat. Craig struggled and got free.
Zach then struck Craig on the jaw with his fist. Craig fell on the floor. Zachary then
took a rocking chair, picked it up over his head and broke it over Craig's back. As
Craig lay on the floor, Zachary pulled a large knife, with duct tape on the handle from
his side. Zachary threw the knife at Craig, just barely missing him. Zachary picked
up the knife and left, during the attack, Zachary threatened several times to kill
Craig. Craig later transported himself to Loring hospital. X- Rays showed Craig's jaw
and ribs to be broken.
PL ACES TO BE SEARCHED AND THINGS TO BE SEIZED
I submit that this affidavit supports probable cause for a warrant to search the
PREMI SES and seize the item(s) described in Attachment A.
I submit that this affidavit supports probable cause for a warrant to seize the weapon
described in Attachment A.
CONCLUSI ON
Based on my training and experience, and the facts as set forth in this affidavit, there
