Milton Keynes Wind Farm Supplementary Environmental Information
The Proposal is for the construction and operation of a wind farm comprising of (i) seven
(7) wind turbines, (ii) a substation, (iii) anemometry mast, (iv) access tracks including
access off the public highway, (v) underground electrical cabling (all for a period of
twenty-five years) and (vi) a temporary construction compound on land comprising part
of Petsoe Manor Farm, which is currently and will continue to be used as arable farm
land.
Following review by White Young Green Consultants, the Council issued a response to
our ES on the 28th of April 2007. The letter summarised further information they would
like to see to help enable them to determine the application. The Developer has
tabulated this letter (shown in Table 2) and responded to each point accordingly, either
in the table or with reference to the relevant Appendix of this SEI.
In addition to responding to the Council, the developer has also provided additional
documents that were provided to various consultees:
Supplemental swept path analysis drawings (Appendix B) and Access Road and
Grid Connection Ecological Study (Appendix C) provided to the Council
Highways Officer
Many of the objection points raised by objection letters to the wind farm are the same as
those raised by Emberton Parish Council, therefore it was decided to respond to the
Emberton Parish Council document to capture all of the points raised by objectors to the
scheme. This response is given in Appendix O.
Ultimately the benefit of the wind farm needs to be weighed against the impacts and the
table below outlines the benefit Milton Keynes Wind Farm will bring depending on the
wind turbine type installed.

Table 1: Energy and Emissions-Annual energy production, for different turbine types,
predicted from Milton Keynes Wind Farm calculated by the Wind Consultancy Service
and shown in Appendix M of the SEI. Also shown in the table is the range of emissions
savings (Calculations in Appendix M of the SEI), and number of households that use the
equivalent amount of electricity produced by the wind farm.
