When Goliath stood upon the battle field challenging the saints of God to come out and meet

him
he was unafraid. He was standing upon the power of "greatness" and measuring himself by his
opponents. Indeed he was great in the eyes of men and as men measure by the outward
appearance he was unnaturally endowed with physical power and an accompanying malice that
cowed the armies of God into retreat. There was however, outside the camp, a champion. He had
been tried, and found faithful in the small things he attended to. These of course were not Really
small things. They were the stewardship of a faithful son over his fathers house. In the course of
that stewardship the young man trained his heart for fellowship with God and trained his arms for
battle with any predator that would come to feed on the flock. His love for the Father gave him
courage to face the lion and the bear. His experience taught him not to retreat from the enemy,
but to attack head on and slay the foe. He practised during slow times with the sling, the club, the
staff. He was prepared. He never knew that the hour would come when the training of his young
life would all come together in one appointed moment, a fulness of time for God's people. A great
predator was wearing out the saints, speaking out boastful arrogant things, speaking against God
and His sanctuary and His people and blashpheming the Name. A man-child was waiting in the
wings. In the fulness of time God brought forth His Son.
A son of man to rule all nations with a rod of iron. Begun as a gentle sheperd over His little flock,
yet predestined to be the conquering Warrior King who defeated Boastful Death and established
Zion as the mountain of the House of the Lord. David the sheperd was the "Least" of his brothers,
as men measure - measuring themselves by themselves and comparing themselves with
themselves. But God looks on the heart. The wicked flee when no one follows but the righteous
are as bold as a lion. By righteousness a throne is established. Saul and his armies were
trembling before the enemy. David was bold as a lion. He could not fight in the armor of Saul, but
he was clothed in the armor of God's calling and choosing. He was not awed by the threats of
Goliath. He was not deterred by the disdain if his brothers. He chose 5 smooth stones.

The thing about smooth stones is this. They have been in the river a long, long time. They are
tried and true. "The word that is nigh thee, in thy mouth and in thy heart"..that word of faith which
we preach. The smooth stone will not curve off the mark because some of protrusion that will
skew the course. It will fly straight to the mark. It will pierce the Head of the Giant and lay him low.

(Heb 13:9,10) Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines. For it is a good thing that
the heart be established with grace; not with meats, which have not profited them that have been
occupied therein. We have an altar, whereof they have no right to eat which serve the tabernacle.

(2Ti 2:23-26) But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender strifes. And
the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, in
meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them
repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; And that they may recover themselves out of the
snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will

The Word that pierces the Head of the Boasting Giant is a Word of faith from the heart.

(2Co 4:13-15) We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and
therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak; Knowing that he which raised up
the Lord Jesus shall raise up us also by Jesus, and shall present us with you. For all things are
for your sakes, that the abundant grace might through the thanksgiving of many redound to the
glory of God.

Smooth stones come easily out of the sling. They can be sent out and they will not catch on the
leather of the sling and fall in vain. They will strike where the enemy is enthroned - in the Brain of
the Giant Boasting Head.

(Jam 3:13-1Cool Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of
a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom. But if ye have bitter envying and strife
in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth. This wisdom descendeth not from above,
but is earthly, sensual, devilish. For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil
work. But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be
intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy. And the fruit of
righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.

God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. If the light that is in you be darkness how great is
that darkness. God is love. If any man says he loves God, yet hates his brother, he is in darkness
still. If we walk in the light As He Is in the light, we hav fellowship with one another and the blood
of Jesus Christ cleanses us from all sin.
The righteousness of God is revealed in love, because love fulfills the law and love does no ill to
its neighbor. Faith works by love and love covers a multitude of sins. The power of sin is death, -
but love overcomes evil with good. Hope, Faith, Love, Righteousness, Wisdom, Truth, Holiness,
Humility, Faithfulness, Forgiverness.....so many smooth stones to choose from. Who is this
uncircumsized Philistine that he should challenge the armies of the Lord? Who will slay the Giant
upon the Field of Battle? Get smooth, and get sent.

(2Ti 2:1-7) Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. And the things
that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who
shall be able to teach others also. Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus
Christ. No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him
who hath chosen him to be a soldier. And if a man also strive for masteries, yet is he not
crowned, except he strive lawfully. The husbandman that laboureth must be first partaker of the
fruits. Consider what I say; and the Lord give thee understanding in all things.

David was himself a smooth stone. A tested stone. Sent to the mark. A WORD (God has spoken
in His Son) of faith fitly spoken from the heart of God (a man after my own heart, who will do all
that is in my will), into the Head of Goliath(Arrogant Boastful Man of Sin, Carnal mind, Body of
Sin). And upon dispatching Goliath, David cut off his head and took his sword.

(Col 2:1-19) For I would that ye knew what great conflict I have for you, and for them at Laodicea,
and for as many as have not seen my face in the flesh; That their hearts might be comforted,
being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the
acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ; In whom are hid all the
treasures of wisdom and knowledge. And this I say, lest any man should beguile you with enticing
words. For though I be absent in the flesh, yet am I with you in the spirit, joying and beholding
your order, and the stedfastness of your faith in Christ. As ye have therefore received Christ
Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye
have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving. Beware lest any man spoil you through
philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not
after Christ. For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. And ye are complete in
him, which is the head of all principality and power: In whom also ye are circumcised with the
circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the
circumcision of Christ: Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the
faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead. And you, being dead in your
sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven
you all trespasses; Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was
contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; And having spoiled principalities
and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it. Let no man therefore
judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath
days: Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ. Let no man beguile you of
your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which
he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind, And not holding the Head, from which all
the body by joints and bands having nourishment ministered, and knit together, increaseth with
the increase of God.

"Let No Man"..... Despise thy youth(Be strong and of good courage). Judge you in meat or
drink(Rule you with law and shadow). Beguile you from the simplicity of faith in Christ- Keep a
connection of love and humility that builds the Body in love. Keep those smooth stones handy,
you will need them at the appointed time.

Beloved, Now we are the sons of God, and it does not yet appear what we shall be: but we kno
that, when he shall appear we shall be like him for we shall see Him as He is. And every one who
has this hope purifies themselves, even As He IS pure.
