Additional Baggage
allowance for
Students
Dear Business Partner,
We are pleased to announce an extra piece of baggage for students travelling for higher studies to USA.
The offer is for one extra piece of baggage upto 23 Kgs valid for sale from 01

April 2014 until 31

March 2015 and
applies to outbound journey only.
Students traveling to North America can enjoy access to our wide network with connections to over
200 cities

In case of a transfer within USA, bags must be through checked to the final destination to avail the excess baggage.
At the first port of entry in the USA, bags would need to be re-claimed and not re-checked in. Incase there is a
stopover in the USA at the first port of entry, excess baggage charge for the extra piece would apply.

Offer valid on flights sold as AA* ex India operated by British Airways only (for any other carrier please contact
the First Operating carrier for their student baggage policy)
Passenger must hold a valid student visa to eligible for this offer

Please note it is mandatory to insert the above entry in the booking in order to take advantage of the offer.
The offer for the extra piece of baggage is only valid on the outbound half of the journey.
This offer is valid for one piece of baggage weighing 23kgs. There would be an
applicable heavy baggage charge for bags weighing between 23Kgs and 32Kgs. For e.g. If a
passenger is travelling DEL-NYC, the permissible baggage allowance is 2 piece of 23kgs The
excess baggage that the passenger will get as a part of this offer is an additional 1piece of 23kgs,
which is a total of 3 pieces of 69 kgs.
For any one piece of baggage exceeding 32kgs in total weight, passenger will be required to
repack the bag to reduce the weight to 32kgs.
In case of a transfer bags must be through checked to the USA offline destination. At the first port
of entry in the USA, bags would need to be re-claimed and not re-checked in.
If there is a stopover in the USA at the first port of entry, then excess baggage charge for the extra piece would apply.
Where the flights ex India or transatlantic are sold as AA* or AA or any other JB flights - The
excess baggage will only be permitted on a through connection without any stopovers or change
of airports at London. If there is a stopover or change the customer would have to pay for the
excess baggage for the onward sector.
Please note that all document checks will be done at the airport. Should the documents be
found to be unsatisfactory the passenger will be charged for the excess baggage.
Passengers travelling as dependents of the student can also avail of the additional baggage offer
provided their visa states dependent.
Please refer to your CRS for the applicable fare rules. Booking classes as per published fares
rules only.
All fare rules for e.g. penalties, advance purchase, refunds, min stay, max stay etc. will apply.
Domestic sectors within USA and sectors between USA-Canada are permitted on AA only.
