BRUISING (Contusions
SYMPTOMSAlthough the skin is not roken, the underlying tissue is in7ured. The result is
some pain and swelling, and perhaps lack and lue marks.
CAUSE$ontusions occur when the skin is in7ured, ut the skin is not roken. &lood vessels
have een ruptured, and thus have released lood into the surrounding tissue, including the skin.
TREATMENT
8As soon as possile after an in7ury, place an ice pack on the ruised area and keep it there for 53
minutes. (f done right away, this will keep it from swelling. 9ften the swelling does more
damage than the ruise. Later apply a poultice of greens )fresh or dry*, oatmeal, wheat ran,
comfrey, or charcoal. "ulveri1e the charcoal, tie it in a cloth, wet it in warm water, and lay it over
the ruise for several hours. .epeat until it is etter.
PREVENTION
8 #trengthen the lood and vessels y eating a nourishing diet, rich in green leafy vegetales and
fresh fruit. &uckwheat is also helpful' also vegetale 7uices containing carrot, celery, and eet.
8 Take vitamin $, to owel tolerance )e sure ioflavonoids are included*, and vitamin E: ;33/
0,<33 units daily. =o out in the sun and asor some vitamin 2. "eople with vitamin $
deficiencies ruise more easily than do others, for their lood vessels are weaker. Also important
is vitamin " )ioflavonoids*.

ENCOURAGEMENT>esus is ministering on your ehalf in the heavenly #anctuary. He
provides you with enaling grace to oey His Ten $ommandment law. Thank =od for salvation
in $hrist? He is all we need now, and for eternity.
EASY BRUISING (E!!"#$osis
SYMPTOMS%re@uent and easily made ruising, when others around you do not seem to have
this prolem.
CAUSELow fier diets, containing little fruit and vegetales. (n other words, 7unk foods such
as coffee, tea, white flour products, and soft drinks.
TREATMENT
8 (mprove your diet. Take alfalfa talets and a good vitamin/mineral supplement </5 times a day.
8 %re@uent ruising indicates that the ody!s clotting factors are not strong. Take more vitamin A.
Bitamin 2 is another natural clotting factor. Take care of yourself6and don!t ang yourself
against things?
8 #ome people are more prone than others to produce ruise spots. That can e a sign of kidney
and liver disorders.
8 Anemia can also cause ruising, as well as allergies.
8 9ther factors that make one more susceptile to ruising are overweight and the time of
menstruation.
8 "urplish umps under the skin which do not heal and look like ruises could e a sign of A(2#.
Leukemia can also cause fre@uent or large ruises.
8 Aspirin causes internal leeding, and can increase surface ruise marks. Also eware of anti/
clotting drugs, anti/inflammatory drugs, antidepressants, asthma medicines. Alcohol and hard
drugs will weaken the clotting factors also.
8 Helpful hers include urdock, aloe vera, cayenne, kelp, and white oak ark.
8 =arlic, alfalfa, and rose hips are useful.

etc.
TREATMENT
8 (f the wound is small, let the lood flow for a short time as you clean it. This helps cleanse the
wound etter. (f the wound is larger, then you need to stop the leeding first, and then cleanse the
wound. #uperficial cuts can e cleaned with soap and water or 5C hydrogen peroxide.
8 =olden seal root powder helps stop leeding and promote healing.
8 ,ounds may e athed with several heral washes or poultices, including aloe vera, comfrey,
or plantain.
8 #@uee1e together the edges of the wound and place a utterfly andage, or something similar,
over it. Apply one for every inch of the cut. A small cut can e closed up and sealed with a &and/
Aid or gau1e wrapped enough to seal it, ut not tight enough to hinder circulation.
8 To stop leeding, apply direct pressure. (f an artery has een cut, the lood will spurt with each
heart eat. #mall artery cuts should receive direct pressure y your finger, pressed down over
clean cloth on the wound. Larger ones may re@uire a tourni@uet to control it until you get help.
&ut do not use a tourni@uet unless you have to, for they can e dangerous if left too tight and too
long. "lacing the wound in ice/cold water will also tend to stop the leeding.
8 (f lood soaks through your andage, add a new one over the old one. (f applying pressure does
not solve the prolem, elevate the lim aove the level of the heart, all the while applying
pressure with your finger.
8 (f inflammation or redness occurs later where the cut was, make a strong tea of a nonpoisonous,
green her )=oldenseal powder is the est*, and soak the in7ured area in this hot tea for aout an
hour every day until it is all right. .e/andage after each soaking.
8 (f a finger, etc., is cut all the way off6and there is no help availale6@uickly place it right

often occur. =o to the nearest hospital emergency room.
8 =ive vitamin $ orally, to owel tolerance )0/4 grams*.
8 Apply tee tree oil to prevent infection, and reapply every </5 hours. To accelerate healing, apply
locally one or more of the following: vitamin E )it will also reduce scarring*, fresh aloe vera
7uice, or a comfrey poultice.

INTERTRIGO
SYMPTOMSThis is an eruption of the skin, caused y two skin surfaces ruing together
)groin, reasts, underarms, or inner thighs*
CAUSE&acteria and yeast can grow in those areas and start an ulceration. (ntertrigo primarily
affects overweight women who perspire heavily or anyone who has urinary incontinence. (n
people with diaetes, it is more likely to develop into secondary infections. (t most often occurs
in warm climates and during the summer.
TREATMENT
8 Aeep the skin surface clean, dry, and free of friction. Use only natural, chemical/free soaps,

pouring out His soul unto death to save them from eternal ruin, will look with pity and
compassion upon every soul who reali1es that he cannot save himself.
SWELLING
SYMPTOMS#wellings occur in various parts of the ody.
CAUSEThis can e caused y ruising, sprains, infections, arthritis, or edema.
TREATMENT
8 Take romelin )which is fresh pineapple en1yme*, either in talet form or in fresh pineapple
7uice.
8 -ake a tea out of chamomile, comfrey, white oak ark, mugwort, dill, or oregano. 2rink it and
apply it externally to the swelling.
8 A contrast )hot and cold* ath or shower may help relieve it. $old water alone may do it. A raw
potato poultice over the area is helpful.
ENCOURAGEMENT-an is erring and frail, ut =od is kind and patient, and of tender
compassion. He has heaven and earth at His command, and He knows 7ust what we need even
efore we present our necessities and desires efore Him.
SCARRING
SYMPTOMSA cut or wound has occurred, and you want to avoid later scarring.
TREATMENT
8 To accelerate healing, apply locally one or more of the following: vitamin E, fresh aloe vera
7uice, or a comfrey poultice. 9f these, vitamin E is especially good in avoiding later scarring.
Apply vitamin E locally )topically* and include it in the diet. "rick an E capsule and let the oil
oo1e over the cut or scar. (n some instances, if this is done even old scars will reduce in si1e and
possily disappear.
8 $lean and care for all wounds, so that they heal properly. $lose gaps with a utterfly andage.
This will lessen scarring. 2o not pick at scas' let healing progress naturally. Eat healthfully. &e

SYMPTOMS.ounded, fluid/filled spots on the skin.
CAUSESThey are most fre@uently caused y wearing different shoes or the excessive
handling of tools.
TREATMENT
8 2ecide whether or not you want to prick it and let out the fluid. (t is generally est to prick
large ones, and ignore small ones. &ut if it is likely to reak, you do etter to drain it ahead of
time. #terili1e the area efore doing this. Leave the roof on afterward' this protects the skin while
healing occurs.
ENCOURAGEMENTTake the hand of $hrist and hold it firmly. He will hold you with a grip
that will not let go6unless you choose to wander away after the devil!s trinkets.

CAUSES$auses include poor living and ad diet' enervation' lack of rest' worry' exhaustion'
as well as toxic poisoning. (t may also e caused y an infected wound, an illness, lowered
resistance, certain drugs, food allergies, stress, or 7unk foods. 2rugs containing sulphur can
produce oils.
Leg ulcers are a special prolem' they are open sores which develop on the legs. They are more
likely to occur in those with varicose veins. "oor circulation causes the skin tissue to reak
down. &ecause we have here a circulatory prolem, the following treatment may, or may not,
enefit the patient.
TREATMENT
8 %or sores that will not heal: vitamin E: <33 units a day. Apply a dressing of fresh comfrey
leaves and root or a paste made from raw garlic on gau1e for ;/03 hours.

8 3or a surfa%e abs%ess: Aeep the infected area clean with soap and water. &ring it to a DheadD y
placing hot compresses on it. This will make it soft in the center. )Hot compresses or ice ags
will also help relieve the pain' hot compresses also promote healing.* A poultice with 5C oric
acid can e used or a hot Epsom salt compress )dissolve Epsom salt in hot water and apply as a
compress all night*. Echinacea can e used, or a clay poultice. #ome use a flaxseed poultice to

EC4EMA (D*+$&titis
SYMPTOMS2ermatitis, also called ec1ema, is a skin prolem indicated y reddened skin,
thickening, itching when touched, the formation of dry, patchy scales, and flaking,
CAUSES AND TREATMENT
8 2ermatitis is an inflammatory skin condition that generally keeps reoccurring. (ts primary
symptom is ec1ema. 2ermatitis is actually an allergy which may e caused y contact with
perfumes, cosmetics, ruer, medicated creams and ointments, poison ivy, or contact with metal
alloys )including nickel, silver, and gold*. #ome type of food could e the prolem. (f the irritant
continues to e in constant contact with the skin, the dermatitis will spread and get worse.
9viously, if you have this prolem you want to solve it?
8 The condition can e intensified y emotional stress and fatigue. 2eficiency of any of the &
complex vitamins can cause dermatitis. Another important item is unsaturated fatty acids. (f you
are not getting enough, you can egin itching wherever you ru on your skin. Ade@uate vitamin
A and enough protein are also essential.
8 9ddly enough, hair loss )alopecia* is commonly associated with dermatitis, especially if a
concurrent unsaturated fatty acid deficiency in the diet exists.
8 (f the dermatitis is not terminated, it can so weaken the system, so that more serious infections
occur. This is ecause, at the same time that you are having skin prolems, your intestines are
developing lesions which can greatly weaken your aility to digest and asor nutrients?
8 (t is a fact that 05C of those with severe dermatitis later develop cataracts.
8 Here are some of the allergies which the experts have found to especially cause dermatitis:
0 / Co69s milk. Either stop drinking cow!s milk or try switching to goat!s milk.
< / Wheat (luten )wheat protein*. There are other grains you can eat instead.
5 / :i%kel. The experts call this Dnickel rash.D ,omen who have their ears pierced and the nickel
post placed in them can produce various rashes on the ody6especially where any other metal
7ewelry touches the skin. &y the way, any gold 7ewelry less than <E/karats has some nickel in it.
8 &eware of the ule ath and similar soapy tu aths.
8 $hildren!s rashes: A skin rash in children may e caused y eating eggs, peanuts, milk, wheat,
fish, chicken, pork, or eef. Eggs, peanuts, and milk account for F4 percent of the skin rashes in
children.
8 .egardless of what may e the cause, omit wheat, rye, oats, and arley for six weeks. Then
slowly add one ack at a time6and see how all this effects the dermatitis.
8 (f you know how to do so, you may wish to do a pulse test after each meal, in an attempt to
ascertain which foods increase heart eat. Those which do are the prolematic ones.
8 Avoid dairy products, white flour, fried foods, other processed fats, and sugar. Avoid
antiperspirants, for they have metal in them. Use cotton undergarments. %ake fingernails cause
skin rashes. Always use white athroom tissue only. The dyes irritate the skin. &e sure and rinse
the soap out of your clothes which have 7ust een washed.
8 -ix goldenseal root powder with vitamin E oil and put some on the affected area. This will
reduce the itching.
8 "rimrose oil and vitamin &K )pyridoxine* have helped infants with dermatitis.
8 An oatmeal ath is another helpful measure, to reduce the itching during the time re@uired to
solve the underlying cause. Use < cups of colloidal )powdered* oatmeal per tuful. $olloidal
oatmeal can e otained at a pharmacy.
8 Hers that may help include comfrey, dandelion, red clover, and pau d!arco.
8 #teep a tsp. each of urdock root, yarrow, and yellow dock root in a pint of oiling water for
half an hour. #train, add a pound of cocoa fat, and keep oiling and stirring until it is a salve. Use

HIVES (U+ti!&+i&
SYMPTOMS#trong itching )pruritus* may suddenly occur. Elevated wheals result, along with
swollen eyes. The suse@uent scratching makes you appear swollen and scratchy. The intense
itchy wheals which may result may disappear in minutes, hours, or several days. Hives are
generally gone within 0/F days, except in cases of severe hypersensitivity, when death may
result. 9ccasionally a fatal anaphylactic reaction occurs. At such times, edema of the reathing
passages produces respiratory difficulty similar to severe asthma.
CAUSESThe skin is reacting to allergies, physical irritation, stress, or emotions. #pecial
dermal cells egin releasing histamine, which causes internal lood vessels to leak fluid into the
deepest layers of the skin.
-eat' dairy' and poultry products, especially in fro1en or fast foods, are fre@uent causes of hives.
This is due to the chemicals, antiiotics, and hormones given to farm animals.
Here is a list of special things known to cause hives in some people:
Aspirin, antimony or ismuth )in various metal alloys*, anti/pyrine or phenacetin )pain relievers*,
ariturates, &HA and &HT )preservatives*, phenoarital or chloral hydrate )sedatives*,
chlorproma1ine and meproamate )tran@uili1ers*, fluoride )dental products and fluoridated

8 A paste of cream of tartar and water can e applied to the area.
Longer term solutions:
8 Try to find the cause or causes of this prolem. Here are some of the things which result in
hives in others:
8 #tress, food allergy )milk, wheat, eggs, shellfish, pork, onions, some fruits*, chlorine in
drinking water, adrenal exhaustion andGor liver congestion resulting from an allergy,
hydrochloric acid deficiency, food dyes, preservatives, drug allergy, acid conditions, insect
stings, chronic infection, penicillin in the milk you drink, aspirin, coffee, alcohol, and toacco.
8 #econdary factors will e spinal lesions, stoppage of lymph flow, imalance etween deep and
surface lood circulation, and adrenal exhaustion.
8 Another factor is improperly )too hurriedly* weaning a child from reast milk.
8 .eading over the aove lists, it appears that the primary cause is fre@uently a physical reaction
to a sustance which the ody cannot tolerate to have put into it. ,e live in a chemical age. 9ne
cannot even drive down the highway without reathing dangerous fumes.
8 2o not use steroids, alcohol, or processed foods.
8 Lymph stasis and poor circulation may result from poor skin function, lack of exercise, fresh
air, and poor elimination' ut ingesting poisonous sustances top the list.
8 Aside from trying to find the chemical offenders, prolonged fasting is generally considered the
est method of terminating recurrent hives. This cleans out the ody and enales it to etter deal
with the chemicals it is daily confronted with. %asting will help the intestines and other organs to
heal. (t will eliminate toxins and help the owels egin working properly again. Trunk packs will
help induce sweating. -oderate sunaths will help also.
8 As a rule, fasting should not e over 0/5 days in length. (f you are overweight, longer fasts
might e considered. (f you are thin, never go over 5 days' indeed, one meal or 0 day fasts are
est for frail individuals. A carrot, eet, and green vegetale 7uice fast is etter than a straight
water fast.
8 Use enemas during the fast, and even afterward, until the hives do not return. -aintain good
owel action thereafter.
8 Also important are dietary changes: &e sure and get nutritional supplements, including vitamins
A, & complex, &

, $, and calcium. Hou may need to take hydrochloric acid with meals.
8 There is one other cause which we have not yet mentioned: a lack of unsaturated fatty acids.
The est is wheat germ oil. %laxseed oil is also outstanding. &ut corn oil would e acceptale. (n
addition to including only such oils in your diet, you would do well to ru wheat germ oil on the
affected area.
8 ,hen the prolem exists for weeks or months, it is vital that you identify the cause, so you can
eliminate the hives.
8 $hronic hives can e linked to candida.
8 ,hen severe anaphylactic reactions occur, immediately take the person to the hospital. (t is est
not to let situations come to such a crisis. #olve the prolem efore hives produces such an

$uts, arasions, insect ites, and stings allow entry of the acteria. An area of redness is seen,
followed y lister/like swellings. The fluid is straw colored. (f not scratched, the lesions reak
down in E/K days and form a honey/colored crust which heals slowly. The skin eneath may lose
its color, not to e regained for months. The scratching generally results in more skin in7ury and
a spread of the infection.
TREATMENT
8 (mpetigo is actually an early sign of immune depression, which allows organisms normally on

the new cells reach the top layer in 5 days. This produces raised areas of skin, called pla@ues,
which are red and often itchy. &ecause so many cells are rising and dying )as they normally do*,
they have a raised, silvery, patchy appearance.
"soriasis may e linked to faulty fat utili1ation. Attacks are related to times of stress, illness,
surgery, cuts, certain viral and acterial infections, sunurn, poison ivy, or poison oak. The drugs
such as chloro@uine, lithium, and eta/lockers also cause it to flare up.
There appears to e a hereditary factor involved.
"revious immuni1ations seem to e a causative factor for some people.
TREATMENT
8 There is no certainty that one can totally eliminate psoriasis. 2o not spend time worrying over
the matter, for the resultant stress may only aggravate it.
8 9nly the scales and skin deris can e removed. &ecause psoriatic skin is dry, it is well to put

ultraviolet light also produces skin cancer.
8 Hou may wish to consider moving to a warmer climate, since the prolem ecomes much worse
in the winter.

8 #ince psoriasis is a metaolic disease, a cleansing 7uice fast, </5 times for the first week, is a
good way to egin working toward its recession. %our weeks later, the fast can e carried out
again. &ut in the meantime, an extremely nourishing diet should have een started. All 7unk food
should have een discarded. #earch out, and eliminate, allergy foods. &eware of milk and wheat.
(t may e well to exclude them for K months, even if they may appear harmless.
8 Avoid fats )utter, milk, cream, eggs, meat*, processed food, white flour, sugar, and citrus fruit.
.ed meat and dairy products contain arachidonic acid, which makes the lesions turn red and
swell. =et your oils from natural foods, such as flaxseed, sesame seed, and soyeans.
8 Bitamins A, & complex, $, and 2 all help the skin and appear to e of help in reducing
psoriasis.
8 #wimming in the ocean is good for reducing psoriasis. &athing in heated aths is also helpful,
ut it also tends to increase the itching. "ut seawater, several times a day, on the area.
8 The various medicinal drugs recommended for psoriasis all have potentially dangerous side
effects.
8 To reduce the itching, a cold/water ath, perhaps with a cup or so of vinegar added, is very
